  1. I'm currently refurbishing the heater box. Noticed one of the brush holders is melted. It looks like the PO never used the heater (we rarely use heater in Australia) or the box came from junk yard. The motor was completely seized. I've managed to clean the whole motor with special spray used in cleaning computer motherboard. I fabricated a brush holder out of heat resistant plastic and soldered the carbon back to the disconnected wire. After cleaning I was able to turn the shaft with no problem. Hooked it all up and it worked in low rpm then slowly picked up to maximum rpm (I guess it found the right spot with brushes). I've been testing it since and it works with no problem. But, something at the back of my head says, "Ok, you won, it works fine, now go buy a new fu*kn motor!". I'm worried if this thing stop working in 6 months and then I have to go through the whole hassle of pulling the heater box out. I found a genuine Bosh 0130007081 (used in Porsch) for $75 shipped. My questions: Is that a fair price? Has anyone used this motor? I have the rubber sleeve so I can use it if needed. Is the shaft diameter same? So I can use my old fan? How do you remove the urethane bushing so that you can get the fan out? (trying not to force it, in case I damage the fan) I appreciate any input. Cheers
  2. Very interesting thanks for the share. I'm just opting to go with Davis Craig EWP which's been proven to be above sufficient for M10 stock wp upgrade. What you're trying to achieve is very easy with Davis Craig control unit but in my case I just hook up the EWP to my Haltech and program it to stay on after engine shut off. There are so many guys here who can help you and I was lucky to get some guidance from TobyB & Keith kuchler. I believe one way or another all 02s will have to eventually upgrade things. Reminds me of when my dad bought a new model VHS player and two months later they announced DVDs, he was furious! So we had to stay using the vhs when everyone else had DVDs just because he was so stubborn to accept! [emoji1]
  3. Mate sorry for the delay: Bosch Distributor Assembly And LS1 ignition coils: Cheers [emoji482]
  4. It's AN-16 with 1" I.D. The flow speed is constantly regulated by EWP rather than the engine crank rev so a slight difference in I.D wouldn't be an issue. Although I believe the original wp inlet I.D was also 1" but someone can confirm this. I will look into the air bleeding option, thanks! [emoji482]
  5. No not a race car, although its hybrid M2/M10 EFI turbocharged. I wouldn't have bothered with the EWP if the space wasn't the main reason for me. I have used the space inside the front grill to fit the intercooler. This is where you usually install the thermofan. So I had to use a puller fan and fit it in between the engine and radiator but the old water pump was taking all the space. EWP solved that problem.
  6. Haha gotta love the rubber band and ghetto over flow tank! How life used to be easy.
  7. Prototype is ready. Final finish could have laser print (open to suggestions?) logo or text. Next is to weld the AN male fitting that would connect to 90 degree swivel then EWP. Has anyone done this?
  8. How did I miss this! I'm so sorry. I will take some photos tomorrow. By the way, kid you not, it's raining today! [emoji1][emoji1][emoji1]
  9. Thanks to all, found this photo on ebay, unfortunately I missed this auction so I have to find the spring now.
  10. Thanks Paul, that explains why the handle is hanging down. I just need to find the spring that's made for it. I recently read a title about this on the forum but can't find it. Anyone know how to fix/hack this? Cheers
  11. Guys with sunroof, Does the crank handle bend and lock in backwards or just hang down? Is there any kind of spring inside the handle to retract it back up? Also is there a step by step installation guide for sunroof? I found this: http://my2002tii.com/spring_2005/sunroof.htm but read somewhere that gaskets were installed wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers
  12. Interesting. I will check it with multimeter. Could use it to power up the bluetooth sender. Thanks
  13. Just bought this 1973 Becker Monte Carlo Sport. Have no Idea what these buttons are. I'm not going to use the radio but it will be hooked up to bluetooth iPhone music/radio. Does anyone know what this plug is for? This is on the right side of the read, there is also antenna and 7 pin din connector on the left side. Searched google but nothing related was found. Any help is appreciated. Cheers
  14. I followed John's recommend o-ring specifications. There are two o-rings, the bigger one is 31mm x 1.5mm which fit ok but the smaller one (8mm x 2mm) wouldn't fit. Surly 8mm x 2mm is the size of original o-ring but the original one is a rectangular o-ring and it will fit right in. The recommended tube shaped Viton o-ring just won't fit without constant thumb pressure and even so, it will pop out after. I tried a Viton 7mm x 2mm which was a good fit but made the internal valve too hard to turn. So I used Viton 7mm x 1.5mm and it finally worked ok. This was experimented on a 73 Tii heater valve with plastic internals. The problem I had was due to a broken plastic rod that is used to move the second plastic plate. I cut a small stainless steel screw with same diameter as the old plastic rod and used a small torch to heat it up, then inserted the bolt inside the plastic to work as a connecting rod, moving the plate left and right. semi assembled I decided to buff and polish the brass but I went overboard! It looks like a piece of jewellery! So the total overhaul cost me $6.20 (O-Rings) + $19 (Beer).
  15. Sorry, there was a reference to Bluntech heater valve repair kit before my comment.
  16. Looking for black face instrument cluster housing. No gauge needed.
  17. http://www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au/news/noosa-racer-and-son-badly-injured-targa-tasmania-c/2992731/ Not sure if this was mentioned before. Hopping Rob and Ben are recovering ok. If anyone has any update please let us know.
  18. Not sure if the info on silver one is right. "The tii is the 2002 that most look out for, produced for the 1972-74 model years." "This one’s got Webers instead of injection so it’s got more power than standard" Also its not a Tii.
  19. Yes mine is March 1973 Tii round tail light not square. It was delivered to London BMW in 73 and then shipped to BMW Australia month later so Euro style RHD.
  20. Hhmmm now I'm curious, this is in my 73tii and 74-76 is different. So not sure it the PO changed the cluster or not.
  21. Yes not classic but good seats for a daily 02. [emoji1360]
  22. Google image search is your friend. I have a 73tii Euro and it has a 2 piece dash. Everything else is same as later models. Apparently there are two types of instrument switch layouts but same things. [/url]
