  1. I always watch this show, its great but sometimes they patch things for the sake of meeting deadline for the show. Nevertheless, its an honourable gesture and great show to watch.
  2. Yes mate, I've already refurbished the rest of the box. Just wondering how much our American friends pay for a re core or as you mentioned, some soldering. Mine failed pressure test but not leaking water which is weird. Cant find anyone interested in fixing an old core in Sydney.
  3. Must have no leak and in fair condition.
  4. What is the estimated cost of having a heater re-cored in USA now a days? Thanks
  5. Thanks Larry, I noticed this is not for BMW, how do you find the fan speed/comfort with BMW motor fitted with this GM resistor? I also wonder. In the article by hegedus in section (f.), he says "Each flap needs a soft seal around the edges to close off air flow at the opening covered by the flap". I guess it also depends on everyone's own preference.
  6. Thanks Harold. I will be ordering from McMaster-Carr. Although I noticed the grommets you bought and recommended have maximum heat rating of only 175° F (79.5° C). I believe this would eventually destroy the grommets specially if their working environment is constantly at maximum resistance. I will search McMaster for a better candidate and let you know.
  7. Thanks Larry. I wasn't going to replace the resistor. After cleaning, it looked solid. But I will replace it if I can find one. Tried searching but nothing close. Where did you buy it from? I've just bought a Bosch OEM assembly rubber grease and applied a tiny bit to the internal of the grommets and it seems that the control rod is now moving freely. Also did you paint any internal moving parts? Such as the protecting clear coat. I was told it's ok to spray protective coat but I'm worried if the paint flake off and block the core or cause issues with fan/motor assembly. Cheers
  8. Where did you buy yours from? I'm after the 6 piece bushing or grommets for heater box repair. The ones I found are little small and turn inside the plate. I'm worried they eventually get cut by the sharp edge of the metal plate. Any help would be appreciated.
  9. What's the special price on heater valve repair kit and blower motor? Thanks.
  10. These are insane rebuilds! Small shop in a little town in Ireland that is specialised in restoring classic 911s. http://bmwbuilds.com/1973-bmw-2002tii-full-rebuild/ http://bmwbuilds.com/1973-bmw-2002-baur-full-rebuild/
  11. Thanks but I cant see it. Here is a picture of what I'm after for both sides:
  12. Looking for Part # 63218454160 and 61 in fair condition.
  13. This one is a prototype I had it made. The project in total cost me near $400 AUD which is around $300 USD. This one is the second one I've had made by CNC machine. It has 10mm aluminium plate (thickness), 3mm radius all round with perfect weld seal and is flat within 0.06mm which is better than the OEM. I suppose if you order in large number, the price will go down but I don't think there are many 02ers out there interested in upgrading to electric water pump. But I'm sure your local machine shop can replicate this if you leave your BMW water pump with him. I could possibly cut an exact template for you and mail it. Let me know if I can be of any help. Cheers
  14. Just an update on my progress. Plate has been done just waiting for any suggestion on what logo/text to use. It will be laser etch printed. I was thinking to just print either bmw logo or ///M. Any suggestion?
  15. Yes looks like US spec and is LHD but Hong Kong is RHD. I watched this movie, the car had a nice rumble.
  16. Using 2002 chamonix roundie in Hong Kong as getaway car!
  17. Why son, why? Always remember rule number one, click "Contact Us", if there is no phone number that you can call or address you can check on google map, then no doubt its a fake knock off coming from China. Always check to see if they accept third party legitimate payment terminals such as Paypal.
  18. Thanks, is it counter clockwise? Also, did you use the plastic sleeve? And finally, how did you remove the nylon lock? Cheers
  19. This motor works fine now but wires get extremely hot during operation. Not sure if that's due to bad brushes or its just how it is. Nevertheless, I've decided to buy a new motor but with anti clockwise turn. The Porsch 0130007081 seems to be clockwise turn.
  20. That's what I'm afraid of. When I tried to remove the urethane bushing, I notice a lot of pressure on fan core. If that thing have a slight bend, you will need a new fan because it will eventually start to vibrate and make noise.
