  1. Wait, Marc, you have the Alpina build sheet for the car that’s for sale on BAT? Might I suggest you reach out and offer to sell the paperwork to them for $10,000 or so?🤣 170hp seems right but the BAT car is claiming 195. Have they added pictures of the 129 pump?
  2. ‘Regular’ A4 had a 300 degree cam and the Alpina ITBs, bigger intake and exhaust valves, plus balancing/porting/polishing. 160hp. A4S added higher compression semi-hemispherical domed pistons and head work to match. 170hp. I think a 320 degree cam was possible though very rare. That may be where the 195hp wishful thinking number came from.
  3. Still no evidence that Alpina did anything to this car. It has an Alpina engine-- which is cool-- but who knows who installed it? Was the car delivered to Buchloe? Was it sent to Alpina after it was purchased? Did an Alpina-authorized shop convert it in period? Or did someone find a motor and stick it in a Tii? If really from Alpina, there would be paperwork laying out all the work and options. I love Alpina stripes almost anywhere-- but not this car. Was much better looking a few years ago. The seats are literally from an E21-- Alpina would have used Recaro Idealsitz N (with no E21 markings). Extra instruments are not... good. I think the 195hp was a misprint one time in some magazine and has been claimed by some ever since. For one, that's SAE. For two, it's nonsense. The plastic Alpina badge on the dash was given to people who ordered a full Alpina suspension-- negative camber struts, springs, adjustable roll bars front and rear. It's still a really cool car underneath, I'm just pissed they made it so ugly.
  4. Great timing on this post. I have three sets of 40DCOE Tipo 19s and I was trying to figure out the differences with the '3 circles' versions and the 'no 3 circles' version. Any idea when they transitioned from no circles to 3 circles?
  5. Man that surface remover makes me want to remove some surfaces!
  6. These came on a set of wheels I bought. They are dirty but are new and have never been on the road. “2013” is written on them in one spot, not sure if that’s the manufacture date or not. They are soft and have been stored indoors. Pick up only in mid city Los Angeles.
  7. I keep meaning to measure, but does anyone know offhand what size caps the 14" Lemmerz Alpina steelies use?
  8. These are great-looking and great-functioning headlights. I think the ones with the 'shield' are earlier than the ones with the cat logo. Here's how they look on my '67 1600.
  9. I have used Intercity multiple times with great results. Not the cheapest but you deal with them directly and communication is great.
  10. My '67 1600 also has a trim piece between the upper and lower dash pieces, no speed humps obviously. Didn't '66 1600s have a chrome trim piece between the upper and lower dash pieces?
  11. I don't mind spending on the contact points-- seats, steering wheels, and tires.
  12. I'd like to know the answers to Ken's questions. Might as well post them here?
  13. I had a similar situation trying to get Alpina negative camber struts rebuilt. Bilstein US doesn't do it anymore, said to send them to Performance Shock in Sonoma. After a lot of non-confidence-inspiring back and forth, Performance Shock wanted $2600 to rebuild the front struts and a pair of rear upside-down Bilsteins. I got in touch with Bilstein Germany and they are charging $225 per front strut and $170 per rear shock. The shipping $$ is insane each way and the delay sucks but some of the US specialists just seem to be price-gouging. Wish I had known about Pirate Ship. How do they handle international Customs? I'm having stuff get hung up in Customs a longgg time lately going both ways.
  14. Didn't the 1600Ti have rear swaybar from the factory? So maybe the changeover happened on all 1600s when that model was introduced.
  15. My 1600 is 1523011, built April 1967. Little overriders in front, none in the back. License plate lights in the bumper.
  16. Amazing progress! For me, brake flare nuts = one entire day. You might want to consider using a heat gun or steam when removing the old carpet if you want to re-use it. The old glue can really stick and rip the carpet.
  17. Fun stuff, dude. Never seen the sport steering box/power assist combo but those fat wheels would be a workout with just a sport box. I feel like I've asked you 10 times but are you painting the carbon body panels? The patina + high tech Frankenstein is kinda cool.
  18. These things sit pretty high, I would use the flat brackets made by @eurotrash.
  19. I think these seats on the UK forum are very similar to yours: https://www.02forum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=14984 PM me if you need hinges like the ones in these pictures. I might be able to hook you up with someone who can 3D print reproductions.
