  1. Is this the Bristol 1600 that was just on Ebay?
  2. Those are "we don't want this job" quotes.
  3. +1 His Limmerfelgen repros would look great. Although I think my first choice to keep things light would be new magnesium BBS E30s.
  4. A new 'member' named @ridersman8 just tried the same scam with me.
  5. If ever a car was crying out for the SOC kit-- https://www.bmw2002faq.com/forums/topic/304594-euro-1600ti-with-m6-s38-motor-resurfaces-after-20-plus-years/
  6. Thanks everyone. My tank is correct for my car, so looks like they sent me the wrong filler. Forrest has been great-- I'm going to send back the filler and I'm sure it'll get worked out.
  7. CA gas nozzles don't play nice with the original filler. I was carrying around an adapter but I thought this would be a more elegant solution. I've been in touch with Forrest and he's been very responsive. Looks like I will have to send it back.
  8. Yes and yes. The rubber elbow adapter included in the kit is a tight fit in the best of circumstances but this is an alignment issue.
  9. Bought a fancy Kooglewerks fuel filler. Tried to install on my '73 Tii. Failed. When I line up the holes in the flange with the holes in the quarter panel, the fuel filler tube isn't really close to fitting in the neck of my gas tank. Does my gas tank and its neck look normal? Thanks, Michael
  10. Do you know what Alpina did to the car/engine, and what equipment they installed? Or is this the type of information you're looking for? Alpina custom built/modified cars to order at that point, so they would install any of their gear that the buyer wanted-- in addition to factory BMW parts and aftermarket equipment from other manufacturers. Other people know much more than I do, but I have build sheets/price lists from that period as well as period photos/ads. Let me know if that would be helpful.
  11. Unfortunately I don’t believe such a list exists. Alpina did not keep great records, but they do have some records. Have you reached out to them? They have been responsive to me in the past. Do you have the paperwork from Alpina that came with the car? Do you know if the car went to Buchloe, or if the work was performed at an Alpina authorized dealer. If Alpina built the engine, there will be a unique serial number on the head and on the block. PM me if you need to know where to look. @LarsAlpina has a lot— a lot— of knowledge about Alpina. Best of luck. Please post your progress and let us know if there is any way we can help. Michael
  12. I assume Motorsport will be BMW’s ‘race’ brand and Alpina will be their ‘luxury performance’ brand. And unfortunately both brands will be diluted into option packages and slapped on everything BMW sells.
  13. Steve, my car was finished on April 19, 1967. I guess BMW was an early pioneer of just in time manufacturing.
  14. Nick, those are amazing. I'm very curious how you got them made. Cast? Spun aluminum? The Alfaholics replicas are fantastic but someone should just do it right and make 15" aluminum versions of Alpina and/or Borrani steelies for the 2002.
  15. Is it my imagination or is Rogers always more expensive?
  16. Some Mk 1s came all silver/ no black paint.
  17. Thanks Max. Exactly the combo I'm thinking about. I notice those are all-gold whereas some other H&B gold wheels are painted black in the very center. I contacted H&B about the gold paint color and they basically said they used whatever they had around back in the day-- ie, different color golds.
