  1. Hi All, I need some help determining what year -range- these sets came in for the 2002/2002tii. 71-73? 74? 75-76? Your knowledge is much appreciated. Cheers.
  2. Hardened billet aluminum Tii injection fuel pump pulley wheel Milled out of a solid piece of 6061 - T6 aluminum 6061 T6 is heated to roughly 990 degrees Fahrenheit, quenched in water, then aged to about 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 8 hours. This changes the yield strength from 8 ksi to approximately 40 ksi -- a significant increase. And will last for decades. $150 shipped Mesage me if interested.
  3. Hey guys, I have a tii that came with VDO water temp and oil pressure gauges mounted in the center console. The only issue is that the water temp sender for this extra gauge is mounted where the water temp sender for the cluster would go. Which means My temp gauge in the cluster is always dead with no signal, but the VDO gauge works perfectly. I would like to remedy this by having them both work, but I don't see a solution that isn't invasive. I don't want to run the VDO gauge sender from a coolant hose adapter. Is there a better location to mount the VDO sender that still looks stock, or at least leaves the engine bay clean looking? Thanks, Ryan
  4. I'm dragging an '83 320is home this weekend for my '72 tii. It has a salvage title, and a bad motor, but good transmission. It has the Recaros and the five speed. What else can be retrofitted? The LSD? The rear brakes? Anything else?
  5. I have an exhaust manifold that I am not sure if it is truly a "tii" component. I have done a search and I'm still not sure. We there two types of "tii" exhaust? Someone has added a port that is capped. So, is this truly a "tii" exhaust? Also, will it help to improve the performance if installed on a stock motor? I appreciate any help in identifying this header and learning if it can help the performance of a stock 2.0L engine in a 1976 '02?
  6. I made a shift knob for my car a wile ago and ended up with a couple extras that I won't be using. Both knobs are made of Patagonian rose wood. The 1st knob is about 2.75" tall with a 12x1.25" threaded insert - $60 shipped. The 2nd knob is about 3" tall with a blank insert. This one is a cheaper because the insert hole was drilled slightly off center but will work perfectly for someone wanting a specific thread size. - $40 shipped
  7. New ---- in the original box! In America --- ready to ship to you! Awesome find. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Hella-181-Driving-Lights-NOS-BMW-Mercedes-VW-INSTOCK-in-the-USA/253239704828?hash=item3af6433cfc:g:jZ4AAOSw09xZ-6mE&vxp=mtr The Hella 181 box has old school, all-American, machine shop, speed shop, patina. Bam! It Includes all the new and original Hella 181 parts in the kit: Lights, covers, wiring harness, bulbs, etc. We jumped into our time machine to bring this set back to the world. Makes me want to rally my car ---- right now. BMW, 2002, Tii ..... what you got? Do not let this piece of automotive history get a way from you. Add these bad boys to light the way to the winner's circle!
  8. I am in the process of building a second tii engine for my ’72 using the block that was original to my car. I bought a donor engine for many of the parts, including the injection pump. Unfortunately the pump arrived without the fuel pressure maintenance valve. The valve is NLA and, so far, I have not been able to find a spare. Wes Ingram, of Ingram Enterprises, suggested that I may have to install an adjustable fuel pressure regulator in place of the missing valve. I have no experience with pressure regulators, but in my research, they all seem to have an inlet, outlet and return line (that all makes sense). To use a regulator for this particular application, would you: 1. Install the regulator before the pump and simply block the return outlet at the back of the pump, or 2. Install the regulator after the pump by connecting the return outlet of the pump to the inlet of the regulator, connect the outlet of the regulator to the fuel return line and block the return port on the regulator? Or, is there another option? Please excuse my ignorance if the answer is obvious and thanks, in advance, for your input. Tony
  9. I've got a Tii badge with some imperfections: see picture $28/shipped PM me for PayPal info. Thanks, Mo
  10. My Last Tii shirt in Small (dark grey): $13/shipped Who wants this?-- PM me to buy... Mo
  11. I've located THREE of the four steelies I need for a full set for my tii. Looking for ONE more that is straight. Will be blasting and powder coating so some surface rust is ok. Located in NorCal, Thanks. GOTTA BE ONE out there!!
  12. 1974 bmw 2002tii for sale numbers matching. vin 2782184Restoration (mechanical and paint) was done in 1996, however body now has a few rust bubbles and dings.21k on rebuilt tii engine, injection pump and suspension from 1996. I got car as a painted shell and a box of parts and reassembled car in 2001. Mild cam, stiffer springs, head port matched with I believe machined larger throttle body and modified injection pump. msd ignition with IE distributor. Runs well. 13. folks, in process of reinstalling KF pump in 72 tii after rebuild by H&R (therefore: pump, warm up regulator, and injectors all calibrated to spec) but having difficulty getting running well at all; symptoms are after firing (with or without cold start injector disabled) for about 5 seconds get pinging (lean?) and stumbling have tried everything I have ever heard of without success, to summarize: all filters and hoses in fuel circuit are new and clean, pickup in tank is clean; tank itself super clean no gunk/rust; fuel relatively fresh Shell VPower 93 RON pressure at KF inlet about 25 PSI, drops slightly when engine fires - any chance that this is too low and needs to be all the way up to spec of 30 PSI? have tried with both original type (~60 psi static pressure output) and new type (~90 psi static) fuel pumps; volume output checked and OK per spec new red coil, no ballast resistor; timing light indicates spark at each cylinder, (pertronix in disti) usual double check of all linkages and throttle settings Looking for more ideas to diagnose and resolve; this is reminiscent of Rob Siegel's epic battle immortalized here and in his blog...

  17. I purchased this car last month from owner of 12 years to remove the 5-speed and driveshaft to trade out with the 4-speed from my tii resto. Figured I could tool around in until my restoration is complete. After receiving the car and driving it and seeing how original and clean it is; I just couldn't do it. Made it easier when I was able to find a 5-speed here on the FAQ. I purchase in Maryland from a very nice older man; where it was stored in a garage and well taken care of. The car is originally from California and the owner mentioned the engine was a factory replacement but I found a notebook of all repairs and it lists a low mile (55,000) tii motor being installed in car with a carb set up instead of fuel injection. The Pastellblau paint is nice on the car except the hood, will polish up very nice. The Sunroof needs some adjustment, I was able to open and lube up but still won't move with crank. Here is what he lists in his ad about the car. It has some nice enhancements: BMW 2002 tii engine - factory replacement with very low miles (reported to be less than 5000 - I've driven less than 50 miles); BMW 5 speed manual transmission from a BMW E21 320i with short shifter kit - very nice feel BMW E30 325 Lemmerz wheels in basketweave pattern with proper offset ET30 with 4 original BBS center caps (plus 1 spare with no cap); Original Behr radiator upgraded from a BMW 320i; Stahl headers and Ansa exhaust; Has A/C but not used; I think everything is there to get working. Mileage on the chassis is estimated to be about 129,000 (odometer has stopped at 110,992). The interior is in good condition with older style BMW 2002 steering wheel and aftermarket Flofit seats in good shape with no rips but 2 small burn like circles on the upper back left side of the driver side. The dash is in excellent condition with no major cracks (a couple of small splits at the base where the dash rises to fit the instrument speedometer cluster). It starts and drives and stops and all lights work inside and outside. The picture of the engine compartment was taken when it was running - no smoke visible. The Stahl long headers to Ansa free flow exhaust sounds good and noticeable. The radiator and cooling system were flushed in the spring and oil was changed. It was repainted 15 years ago and looks decent (hood paint has dulled and appears to have been replaced, not original as you can see green paint). The hood has rust along the edges on the underside by hinges but does not affect opening and closing or is noticeable from outside . The trunk floor and shock towers are solid with no rust. The seat floor pans are decent with very small rust on the passenger front one. The front windshield needs the lockstrip (included) installed. Windows roll up and down. The driver side inside door panel is loose from the door and just needs new fittings. Tires hold air but are old and should be replaced. I noticed after receiving that the exhaust rattles against the frame as the muffler rubber brackets have broken. I wired up temporarily until I can get to a muffler shop. As is always the problem here in Southern California; I cannot provide a SMOG certificate so it will be sold as a PARTS Car if purchased by someone here and the clean Maryland title provided. I will take better pictures of the car tomorrow. Call/Text at 858-208-8449 or email colletti.charles@yahoo.com
  18. Back in the mid 1970's, an x-wife ran my 2002 out of coolant and baked the engine. I found a totaled 1974 2002tii for sale and purchased the running gear/suspension/gas tank/fuel pump, everything but the clock. It's been at home in the car ever since, was in storage for 20 years, brought it out, removed the gas tank, replaced all fuel lines, replaced some "O" rings on top of the KF pump (thanks Wes Ingram). Long story short, the car is on a rotisserie repairing some rusty spots, replacing core support, a rocker or 2? With all of the car apart, I feel like I should freshen the engine while it's on a stand, but the cost of KF pump/injector service cover a pair of side draft carbs.Thinking about building a simpler carburetor engine, so wondering is there a market for +2782562+? It starts and runs fine, has just over 100k miles. It would be easier to dismantle and ebay parts, keeping block, crank & flywheel. Would love the advice. WNABTII Jerry, 509 995 1182

  21. Hey All! My car was stolen this evening. Last seen in West Hollywood, Los Angeles. Factory black, with blacked out front grill. Guessing it was cased by someone who had been eyeing it for a while and it (or hopefully not) parts of it will be popping up in our community. I've owned this car for 17 years and have all records. Already filed police report. Please call the cops and email me at laurelklynn@gmail.com if you see it or hear anything.
