  1. I use cork toppers from old wine bottles to keep mine open. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Nice! I converted to a 318i alt a few years ago. One reason was for the 80amps, but mostly I wanted the adjusting bracket. I used to struggle adjusting the alt before the swap. Now it’s a breeze. I wish this option was around 5 years ago. Much cheaper upgrade. Happy to see it available now tho. GLWS! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Wasn’t today but I wanted to try my hand at sign painting. My friend owns a Tiki bar and I painted his logo on my airdam. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Also....Download the Factory Service Repair Manual. I use it more often than the Haynes manual. Sometimes I use both. https://www.bmw2002faq.com/articles.html/technical-articles/history-and-reference/bmw-2002-service-repair-manual-r247/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Welcome. It looks like most of your answers have been answered in some form. The FAQ is an awesome site and I’ve learned a ton over the years. Almost every question has been covered so it’s always best to search first. This is how I search... 1. Go to google. 2. Type, site:bmw2002faq.com followed by your question. I like doing it this way because I can preview the thread beforehand. See my image below for an example. Jason Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. xlittlejohnx Those wheels are sick! I’ve never seen them before, what are they? Love your early 02 also. Is that Tampico? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Are your exhaust hangers new? I’ve seen others add hose clamps to tighten them up a bit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. It’s nice. Fit well when I had one. More durable than fiberglass. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Love, love, love your 1600. I’ve seen the Bavaria badge on a couple 02’s in the past. Makes me wonder if it was a local marketing thing. Like the French “Jubilee” and the English “Coupe.” I know you were looking for commentary on things that look out of place or missing. I only noticed the lack of engine bay decals and the later flag mirrors. My 70 came with the trapezoid style mirrors. Anyhow, congratulations and welcome! I look forward to many more pictures in the future. Jason Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. That looks exactly like my Alpina airdam. Also those fog light protectors are factory I believe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I’ve never dealt with him, but I’ve seen several threads with others in your situation. Here’s one of them. https://www.bmw2002faq.com/forums/topic/244666-fraud-alert/]https://www.bmw2002faq.com/forums/topic/244666-fraud-alert/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Here are a couple I took over the weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Those MK1 Cosmic wheels look great. I’d love to have a set one day. I like the hard angles in the recessed areas of the wheel. Much like Ronal R1’s. I just recently installed a pair of 13x7 Ronal R2 Kleeblatts. I’m still waiting on tires for the 13x8 rear wheels. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I’d buy this in a heartbeat if I was in the market! Looks like a deal to me. I’m currently working on a Polaris 67. GLWS! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Here’s a supercharged S14 in Inca. I guess it really isn’t a drag car, but he did take notes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. If you are running piano top pistons you cannot use the E21 head. If you have flat top pistons then your good to go. (Assuming the head is within tolerance for deck height.) Be sure that the upper timing chain cover is the same height as your new head also. Unless you like cleaning up oil. Regards, Jason Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I have this Style gauge pod used in many Alpina 02’s. It is steel with a flat black powder coat. I have VDO water temp, oil pressure and voltage gauges installed. https://catuned.com/alpina-style-gauge-pod-for-2002-fits-many-other-models-also-fits-e30-e36-e39-e28-e21-e9-2002 I do like the Kooglewerks gauge pod that replaces the upper steering column pad. I’d love to put my AFR gauge there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Thanks for sharing. Nice story and I dig the old photos. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. A few from over the weekend. Got some rubber on the 13x7 Ronal Kleeblatts and then installed ‘em up front. I still have to buy tires for the 13x8 rear wheels. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I bought a couple 3D printed ones from Faq’r Geoff Raynak. Fit perfectly on my swan neck mirror base. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I like the smell of old vinyl/horsehair and fuel in the cabin. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I see it now! [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Wish I could say yes, but I gotta say no. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
