  1. I cannot remember the name of the wheels, but they look similar to these. If I remember correctly they are an English version of the Ronal Keeblatts. Edit: I believe they may be the same wheels pictured below. They were made by J A Pierce. I believe the owner of this 02 is on the FB BMW 2002 group.
  2. Here’s a ‘67. Not my car, just something I had saved.
  3. I had a Lynx with a single 45. It was cool, but I love my dual set up much more. If you don’t have one, I’d recommend installing an AFR gauge. It’s made tuning easier. Also keep a log book of your jetting, and keep notes.
  4. Saw two 1600ti wheels. Let’s make it three! here’s mine in my ‘70 1600.
  5. Here's a couple red / black combos for you.
  6. I believe Alpina used a matte or satin black on their early 02’s. It prevented glare from the sun while racing. They also painted the silver gauges black on their instrument cluster for the same reason. The color combo is classic. I don’t think you can go wrong with it. I’m currently working on a 67 pig cheek car. I haven’t finalized my colors yet. It’ll be awhile. Here are pics of my 70 though. I went through two liveries. Both inspired by period correct liveries with my own twist. First livery was Alpina inspired, the 2nd is a play on the TIK race cars.
  7. How about something like this. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Car-Sun-Shade-iClover-UV-Protection-Folding-Auto-Rear-Window-Sunshade-39-x-20-Inch-Universal-Mesh-Back-Visor-Suction-Cup-Children-Kids-Baby-Pet-Fit-S/575408139
  8. Yes, I am interested in those pieces. We spoke earlier this year about cutting up your 1600, but I believe a large snow storm put things on ICE. DM me a price, and if we agree I can send payment before you go cutting metal. Thanks, Jason

    '67 1600-2

Thought I'd update my blog with some progress. This is a culmination of several months of rust repair. A little inner rocker repair action. I didn't take any after pictures, but I killed it. Slathered Por-15 everywhere when all was said and done. Heres the drivers side. I cut out all the rust, welded in new metal, and treated with Por-15. I was in no way concerned about making the outer panel look perfect. This area is getting covered by pig cheeks anyways. My main goal is to replace bad metal with good. Making room for 13X8 Ronal Kleeblatts. Cut and hot glue the inner tubs to the side panels. The other side. My original plan was to repair the rusted areas on the nose panel, but it was proving to be beyond my skill set. The solution to my dilemma is in the large box in the background. On the original nose, there is a serial number stamped near the drivers side headlight. I may cut that out and weld it to the MVP nose. Up next. - Bring the engine bay to bare metal and then epoxy primer it before welding on the new nose. - Repair the rust on the front fenders. I plan on bonding my front pig cheek flares to the original fenders. - Bring everything down to bare metal. I have the Eastwood Contour SCT, I've used it a couple times, and I'm curious how quickly I can finish a whole car. - Epoxy prime > polyurethane prime > sand sand sand > sand sand sand some more > sand a little more > and paint. Thanks for checking out my updated. I can't wait to show yall more! Jason
  10. I bought a replacement nose panel from BMW in 2010 and had to drill holes for the left/right grilles. AFAIK, 02's never had factory AC, so perhaps the holes drilled on your original nose were modified from the dealer. Those holes for the headlight buckets look comparable to the stock '67 nose panel I just cut off. I'm actually about to install my new MVP nose panel this week. The fit of the new nose panel looks great. Love the color!
  11. Getting closer to finishing rust repairs. I’ve replaced the rockers and patched some small areas on drivers side floor board. Last big hurdle was the nose on this 67. Soon I’ll be elbows deep in dust and sandpaper.
  12. Thanks for the confirmation. I appreciate it. In other news. I made a price adjustment.
  13. Hi Hernan. yup, it’s available. I’ll send you a dm
  14. Euro Seam Covers: $120 shipped in CONUS. For early short bumpers. Comes with new plastic trim pieces. Sold Euro License Plate Holder: $110 shipped in CONUS. SOLD
  15. Great story! You and your parents really took care of this 02. Daily driver status in New England and it still looks pretty solid.
  16. Hi Eddy, Yes it is. I’ll send you a dm. Jason
  17. A little price adjustment, and shipping included. This is the grille mounted on my 1600.
  18. Hello all, I recently swapped out grilles on my 1600 and have decided to put these up for sale. I’d describe this grill as in very good condition. No major dents, but a few dings from road debris. I tried to capture them in the photos. The anodized aluminum still shines nicely, the slats are straight, and the mounting posts are in great shape. I do have brackets to go with these grills, you will have to source your own nuts though. Shipping is INCLUDED in CONUS. I accept PayPal. Thanks, Jason A little misshapen here at the bottom of the grill. I didn’t notice till closely inspecting. I think this is adhesive from the factory Notice no bends in the side profile.
  19. If you’re cutting up metal I’d buy these areas. Both sides of rear side window sheet metal. Rear firewall. Mines a ‘67 too.
  20. Those old things? ? Unfortunately the Borranis did not come with the sale, nor did the Talbots, Alpina headers and sway bars.
  21. Looks like W&N has a stainless exhaust for early cars. They’re not US based but I usually receive my parts from them in a week or less (I live in VA.) https://www.wallothnesch.com/en/stainless-steel-exhaust-system-compl-1502-2002tii-incl-manifold-without-mounting-kit-only-for-lhd-18-01-00.html
  22. Back in January 2019 I picked up a '67 1600-2. I've always preferred the early cars so despite some of the rust issues I picked it up. I've welded (flux) before, but I wanted to get better, so I told myself, "F*** it, let's buy a C25 bottle and get good at grinding." ? First order of business was to contact the BMW group archive. "The BMW 1602 VIN 1529238 was manufactured on June 19th, 1967 and delivered on June 29th, 1967 to the BMW importer Hoffman Motors Corp. in New York City. The original colour was Polaris metallic, paint code 060." The day I brought the 1600 home. Of course, the original metallic paint failed, and the first owner opted to paint the exterior white (common back then.) The 1600 lived most of it's life in the DC / VA area, so the outer rockers and wheel arches were toast. Surprisingly, the floor boards, inner rockers, frame rails, and shock towers were relatively rust free. My plan is to cut any rust I can find and replace with new metal (I'm about 3/4 the way through.), then I'm going to cut and weld the rear wheel arches in prep for some pig cheeks (I've already done this.) Paint color is still up in the air. The first 02 I fell in love with was a friends Polaris '68, and I love the color on stock 02s; however, I don't find it interesting enough for my project. So, right now I'm considering Turf, Derby, Evergreen (M roadster), or Leaf Green (Porsche.) Who knows though, I've got plenty of time to decide. Anyhow, my next entry will be about some of the history of 1529238. Image from PO sales ad.
