  1. Although not a 2002 topic, I thought this group would appreciate the car and story. Duane and Candace bought this car in Palm Springs, California in 1974 from a BMW showroom and cared for it for 19 years. In 2019, I reunited them with their old car by driving this coupe on 1,000 mile round-trip journey from Los Angeles to Chico, California. This is the video of that adventure.

  3. Very good point. I didn't buy it because of this, but thought it was an interesting storyline. I have been in touch with a few owners, but not the 1st owner (yet).
  4. Off topic of the 2002, but on topic for the era of these cars... I own a 1974 BMW 3.0CS, see picture. The story of this car is that it was imported by Max Hoffman and was supposedly ordered as his personal car (silver/red). The story continues that this car was displayed at the '74 or '75 LA Auto Expo and Max sold it to someone who expressed great interest in the car at the show. Does anyone have info on the 70's LA Auto Expo cars and/or photos from the expo? Is there any way to prove whether this car was actually Max's car?
