  1. That's not a tii clock... It came out of an e12. KC
  2. The wheels that I run are BBS RZ's off of a VW Corrado. The only time they rub is after the car lands hard.... No rolling needed on my car.
  3. Thats what I run on my car and its lowered about the same amount or more. KC
  4. Hey Randy, Sounds like a good save! Cant wait to see this one. I guess that means I need to get the tii back on the road cause I dun broke the motor... KC
  5. Its got a rare 74tii intake manifold and airbox, with an interesting decel valve setup. Almost forgot the overflow hose draining into the front valence... KC
  6. There are two dizzy's that end in 013... One is for an auto and other is for a 74tii. The reason for this is because of the deceleration valve that is mounted on the airbox. Justin G. from NYC will likely have a more complete answer to your question... KC
  7. Hey there oldschoolbmw Did you ever take the time to think that maybe I installed them for a customer... The last time I checked I have a set of Recaro seats from a 320i in my car! The customer called Stefan on all of the issues noted in my post. I do not know what they worked out in the end but I do know that the customer decided to keep the seats. Grow some balls and log in with your username next time.... Happy Halloween! KC
  8. Jim, The pump in that car was replaced at the time of the engine rebuild... Not worth touching it. The injectors flow to spec. and are not worth putting any money into. The warm-up regulator is also good to go... I'm no tii expert but, I would recommend against upgrading to a hotter cam as I like the smoothness of the stock tii. I guess that is why my Metric Mechanic stroker ended up in the basement for all of these years... If you want a real bang for the buck upgrade for you car look into dropping the 002 distributor and going to a crank fired ignition. It is the best upgrade I have ever done to my car. I'm running a MegaJolt if you would like to read up on it... If you are intent on getting more power (hotter cam, M3 crank etc..), call Wes Ingram and talk over the mods needed with him. He will steer you in the right direction...http://www.wesingram.com/ Take care, KC
  9. I've rebuilt a shitload of heater boxes in the past and have yet to come close to $300 in cost... Heater core boiled out $20-$30 at the most. Heater box gaskets from BMW $25 (check with Blunt). Small rubber grommets and rivets, less then $5 at the hardware store. JB weld to fix cracks in the box $5, if needed. Bottle of caliper lube or other lubricant for the box $5. Closed cell foam gasket material to seal the box back up against the fire wall and the interior flaps $5. Total: $75 plus your time... If you are the check writing type $300 for a heater box rebuild is pretty damn good.... KC
  10. Here is what I like... this is chrome powder coat with a clear...
  11. That is very cool Pat! This inspection is a testament to your dedication and to the fact that you did it all with your own hands without breaking the bank. Its easy to pull out the checkbook but its a hell of a lot cooler to do it yourself. KC
  12. Please do not take this as a bash against the vendor as the following is my personal view of a single set of seats.... (it may have been a bad day at the factory...) I would advise anyone looking at these seats to directly compare their quality with Recaro, Koenig or other mid to high end racing seat manufacturer. I personally feel that they look great but the build quality on the set that I am very familiar with is inconsistent with the $$ The plastics still had some leftover edges from the molding process that caused damage to the nearby vinyl and piping before the problem was even noticed. The quality of the welds on the seat components are most likely adequate in strength but were not very pretty to look at and paint/powder coating were not what I expected to see. I also had to retap the mounting holes on the bottom of the seat as they were full of paint. I may be asking for too much for the cost but I will admit I'm pretty picky... KC

  14. I prefer the ground cable out of an E34 that has the battery under the back seat, over the E30 cable. The E30 cable is a bit too short.... Since you are doing a major audio upgrade you may want to replace all of the ground cables with larger wire gauges and fresh terminals. Read up on the "big 3" over at DIYMA. Good luck! KC
  15. Thanks for the comments gents! Arden is close... Its sitting on the floor in my computer room. KC
  16. I used SEM landau black for the black parts and some krylon chrome paint covered with wurth clear for the silver parts. Its not exactly chrome but I think it looks good. KC
  17. I agree with Paul, it could also be a failing guibo... You need to get under there and get things corrected before things get worse. I have a trans in my scrap pile that has a hole cut into it from a lose bolt...
  18. You can definitely fit an eight as I've had success fitting a 10 in a fiberglass enclosure. I'm building some glass enclosures for the back seat in a few weeks. Just depends on if I have the time or not... Don't tell me you are trying to cram something like this under the seat!! Regarding the sound dampener... The foam mat is typically called ensolite. For a great deal on a great product talk to Rick at http://www.raamaudio.com/ Later, KC
  19. Just helping out I can email you the whole chapter if you need it... KC
  20. I found a few sets of the Belden Max sparkplug wires at the local crazy rays parts garden and love them for my tii. Been running them for years with no problem. KC
  21. Couple of things about the car off the top of my head... This car is the smoothest tii I have ever driven, and I've owned and worked on many in the past. If I had the time, money and energy I would buy the car myself, but unfortunately 3 kids and a seriously demanding job not to mention the other 4 BMWs are getting in the way!!! It is about as close to rust free as a 2002 can get.... besides the wax oil, the bottom of this car is as clean as the paint on top... I've spent a good deal of time under this car in the past. Sub frames and suspension components are all painted and rust free with fairly recent bushings (maybe two years old) all thanks to Paul! The car also has Bilsteins and ST springs KC
  22. Hey Arden, The new pic helps... I would check the combustion chamber (after cleaning) and even the head gasket real well. Looks like coolant has been hanging around in there for the 10 years the car was sitting. Possible crack in the head or just gasket failure. KC
  23. I hate to link to a post on the Vortex but I'm lazy.... $600 with tires, $500 without. Located in Bel Air Maryland, but can be picked up in DC where I work. Not overly interested in shipping.... Again I'm lazy! http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4571825
  24. Possibly burnt oil leaking from the rings. How did the plug from that cylinder? Easy off oven cleaner will clean up that mess pretty quickly, just dont leave it on too long or it will etch the aluminum. After I rinse the oven cleaner i like to use another degrease and then spray the bare metal down with a light coat of oil or even wd40. Once it is clean give the chamber a good visual check for any damage just in case the chamber looks like it does from an incorrect mixture. This from a tii or carbed car? KC
