  1. I had the same problem a few years ago and had two options... 1. head to autoparts store and try to find one that will fit and has a different shaped end. The ones I found were round in the front. 2. Beat on em with a hammer until the center caps fit. KC
  2. Raamat plus ensolite works very well and will bring the cabin noise down to a level better then the original. LLpro is great stuff but a bit too pricey unless your going all out... I chose to use some jute padding to make up the difference between the raamat and the original bitumastic and the carpet. Both Rick and Ant are excellent people to work with! KC
  3. ARC would be tough at best, proper settings and a solid knowledge of rods would be needed because of the light gauge of steel on the 2002. Definitely check craigslist for a used mig welder, 115 volt version should be fine for anything you need to do on a 2002. I have a few welders and even the smallest cheapest one, a Daytona Mig (made by Cebora) does very well even when compared to my Miller. Don't bother wth a gasless mig. It will work but from your discussions in the past I doubt you want an ugly, messy weld job. I've also used the $90 mig from harbor freight and is not really worth the money or time. The Cebora I have is pretty cheap when it comes to build quality but it welds very well. The Chinese welder from harbor freight is many steps below the Italian made Cebora. Here is an excellent website and forum to do some reading. Great bunch of folks. http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/ '> http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/ KC
  4. Hey Dennis, They have most likely been superseded with new part numbers. take a look at Bell BMW site in NJ. Their database may reference the updated BMW part numbers. http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=26 KC
  5. Got home from work too late tonight, My shed is dangerous in the dark! KC
  6. Hey Jim, I'll check my stash tomorrow when I get home from work. I have a couple of heater boxes in the shed but I'm not sure how they look. If I have something decent I'll let you know. KC
  7. Here is an earlier spotting of the same orange tii hauling ass on the open road... Who is this crazy sumbitch??? Never-mind, its just JGM...
  8. I have a used tii manifold and a stahl header if you are interested. I'm in Bel Air. KC
  9. To tell you the truth Pat, you will likely be one of the best mechanics they have. I'm quite familiar with the management of a dealership service department and can easily say that you are likely extremely qualified. Plus its a decent job until you find something that better fits what you are looking for. Good Luck in what ever you do! KC
  10. I'm pretty sure I have one in my shed. I'll take a look and if I do will send you some pictures. Please send me your email address through the FAQ. KC
  11. Early or late? I have a restored 73tii clock for sale. KC
  12. I can not view your pics, but from the sound of it.... That is if you are not going for originality it would be easier to install a modified e30 hand brake. Haven't made one for a while but I think I may have one that I started converting a while back. KC
  13. I have a really nice set in the shed that belong to another FAQ'r. There is one rip that has been repaired, they are the earlier seats and have beautiful chrome sides. I'm pretty sure he wants to sell them but let me ask him and I will get back to you. I also have two sets of recaros.... Casey
  14. Matthew, Not that I have noticed. I've rebuilt a a bunch of clusters and my car came with a mix of early and late gauges. And now for something totally different: Do you need a BWA sportstar for a spare? I pulled one out while I was cleaning out my shed tonight and thought of your car. Casey
  15. Are you looking for the saddle color that is correct for a 73 model or is the other brown/saddle color with the black mixed in? KC
  16. Hello Jim, I was having a few drinks after a long day of work.... The turbo is from a Euro 745i and is about as heavy as a york ac compressor. I think my tii would disown me if I even tried it. My tii is plenty fast for me even though I do have a stroker for it sitting in the basement as well as a completely rebuilt stock motor sitting on a stand next to my car. Now if I could just find the time to install one of the damn things.... KC Oh yeah, and fix my bent up bumpers!
  17. Howdy Tango Juliet Winston.... Good to hear from you! I'm just bored and sick of seeing the political crap and post about how to get more HP from a shitty rusty 2002 when I click the unread posts link. I've worked for Uncle Sam for 15 years and get enough of the politico babble at work.... Did you ever build a set of coilovers with those struts I sent ya? I just welded up some for the hell of it but I have yet to do anything with them as I've been working my ass of on my e39 and my e34. KC
  18. How R i be puttin dis in ma tii? It be all slow like an socca momma's be blowin by me like i wuz on a huffy. now u see here like ma tii beh motified an shit but i wants it to be fazter. Help a man out mang... Fuck politics.... Lets talk cars..... KC
  19. I tried it on a few pieces to see how it would look and the results were pretty good. I need to dig up the pictures but I used a chrome powder with a high gloss clear. I also did it on some roundie tail light chrome and it looked really nice. Here is an example of the color that I used.
  20. Call Carl Nelson at La Jolla or Rob Torres of 2002 haus in the links section. They are both here in the US or Jaymic in the UK to get a suction valve and the gasket. Clean out the pump with some solvent and put it back together. The valves are very expensive new but can be had for much cheaper used then a whole pump. Good Luck. KC
