I just turned 45 earlier this month (3/2/66) but I joked with my wife that I am now starting to count backward after she reminded me I'm now in another age bracket. For grins, she had my birthday cake made with "Happy 43rd Birthday" written on it.

Not starting to feel this old though...

47 y.o. List starts in 1980 when I was 16.....

1- 1977 Dodge Van B200 Van Conversion (hand-me-down)

2- 1981 VW Rabbit

3- 1984 VW Jetta GLI

4- 1986 Porsche 944

5- 1989 Nissan Maxima SE

This is the point where I start backing off a bit on my indulgences so I can buy wife cars too. Her cars are not included on this list, mostly minivans till couple of years ago when she decided she no longer needed to drive so much empty space around and went for a nice Infiniti G35

6- 1987 Sterling S (made by Rover, awesome car, never made it in the US)

7- 1988 Mitsubishi Van (for work, put over 230K miles on it, ran like a champ)

8- 1997 Nissan Maxima SE (traded 6 and 7 for this one)RIP, totaled in '99.

9- 1999.5 Audi A4

10- 2001 Mitsubishi Montero (I hated it, so after a year.....)

11- 2002 Mercedes M320

12- 2004 Nissan 350Z

13- 2005 Mercedes E500

14- 2007 Audi A8L (has only 22K miles, still own, amazing car)

15- 1976 BMW 2002 (always wanted one, opportunity came up, I snatched it)

I just realized that I have only owned 2 American cars, a 1986 Cougar I bought my wife when we got married, and a 2005 Focus I bought my son after he totaled his 2001 Golf. A fuel hose came loose on the Cougar and spilled about 5 gallons of gas in a supermarket parking lot, had it towed to the dealer and never saw it again. The Focus I thought was expendable, turned out to be pretty reliable and tough little car, replaced it last year with a Jetta.

Cheers!

I'm 56 and my first car was a 1968 1600 I bought the day after I graduated from high school June 1973.

My second BMW is a 1970 1600 I bought Dec 1974 ("is" because I still own it)

My third 02 is a 1974 2002 TURBO I bought in 2001 and imported from England.

All told I have only owned 10 cars and 2 motorcycles over the years. But have raced over 175 different cars in the last 33 years.
