OH! I just thought of a part that might lend itself PERFECTLY for affordable 3D printing:

The white seal/frame around the glass of a trapezoid early exterior mirror. I have one that's NOS piece on my car now. I might be persuaded to mail it to you, if you make me one or two spares. It's got the consistency or white poly or nylon plastic. Very much like the plastic stuff I've seen printed in the past - thoughts?

I may get to this at some point, kind of a bitch to model...

A blank gauge panel that fits in the consoles, which could be cut easily with hand tools to accommodate typical gauge diameters.

Love it.  I will start working on this soon and post some cad to see how you all like it.

ive been contemplating trying the black inserts for the door handles.  mine seem to be missing, but i have a broken in one in the box of spares that came with the car that would work for modeling.  my fusion 360 skills aren't that hot though.... :P  maybe this winter when I have a little more time.

Here's a gift to work on:  STL file attached.  It will require some re-scaling/re-sizing.

Bumper Slot Plugs.  I'm sure some bumperless car owners would like these.  Enjoy.

What a gift!!  I will get some samples run and if they fit I'll shoot you a couple.  Thanks!

Right on.  Pics of the exact ones you are talking about?  Do they differ much year to year?

I could definitely use a new console face.  I removed my Behr A/C plus the old face is busted up badly.

Cool.  Is the A/C Console face different from a 'standard' console face in how it mounts to the sides of the center console?  I will look into this.

Sten, I did not measure the holes in the car. My bumpers are intact.

I created a cad model that has radii at both ends and arbitrary length.  The scale may also be massive.  If you can't resize/rescale the STL mesh, let me know what the length and width of the slots are on the early 02.  I can resize and send you another file.

I think the sides are the same for all of them, but I'm sure someone can confirm that.

These are still available at http://www.bts-autoteile.de/index.php/shop/1502-2002-turbo2

Cost of shipping will exceed the price of the part (8.80EUR). Tricky to mount due to the plastic, original seemed quite pliable in comparison. BTS seems to have all the mirror bits in the exterior trim section, don't know if it's repro but I suppose so. Worked for me a few years ago. they had the 6fuse covers at the time, but were asking a lot for them.

Sorry everyone, I have been super busy lately, but I managed to sneak out and get some measurements taken for the bumper holes, here is what I drew up last night...

I plan to print these soon and a cupholder, I will upload pics when done and check fitment on both items.  I currently have someone doing CAD work on a Kidney Grill for me!

Does anyone have a center console face they could loan me as a model?

I am planning to take my Behr off this weekend to get at the evaporator.  PM me with your address and I will ship it along with a busted up spare to you next week.  I must say that there is a reason why most of the surviving Behr consoles are in bad shape.  The mounting/interface areas are highly stressed.  Plastic is a poor choice of material for this console.

do you mean the holes where the front license plate would cover?  if so, those are available at Lowes in those specialty nuts and bolts drawers IIRC

I believe Joe is referring to the square holes in the front lower valance, as below.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,
