  1. When I put my car together I marked flywheel ballbearing and other marks on it in white, Then transferred marks to front crank pulley, So no need to deal with staring down that little hole
  2. I would check what end gap they recommend for the rings, They sell a tool to do it
  3. My 68 Sat for 20 years in garage, No motor, tranny, subframes, interior etc. Over last 1.5 years been getting it back on road, Bonus ? Whats the car you see white front fender of in 1st Pic?
  4. I went to look at a 70 Ford F100 with my son a few months ago, While I was there I look in sellers garage and see an immaculate 85 M3 euro version, Light Cream color with Plaid blue , green interior, Just a perfect car. I forgot about the ford real quick and asked if he'd sell the M3, But no luck, I wish I had pics of it cause I've never seen another like it. I left him my phone # and told him if he ever sells give a call but I don't think it will be anytime soon
  5. As far as checking compression, First unplug coil wire, If you have electric fuel pump, Pull the fuse or pull wire off pump. Hold throttle to floor and crank, Most important is watch where gauge jumps to on first turn over and then you only really need motor to turn over three more times to get to maximum, I just did mine cold the other day and it jumped to almost a 100 on first crank and I ended up at 175 on all 4 but I have 9:8 CR pistons also. What matters also is that your within at most 10% on all cylinders but being even would be ideal. If you really want to be thorough next step would be a leak down test
  6. Just stand on bar at pre figured out distance, Don't jump on it
  7. Just buy one from an E21, Same thing, 10% of that cost, Thats what I'm using and have a much more stable fuel gauge as a result
  8. I went with Hagerty stated value and it's pretty inexpensive, I keep upping my value as the car is running and driving. On yours I'd just say 30k, But it's really what you can live with if something happens
  9. That seems Ok, Tad loose is better than tight as long as you don't here a bunch of noise
  10. My 68 2002 has the original 2 reservoir set up, But I'm using E21 Disc brake set-up with E21 master but both have low level sensors and light on dash like original car had
  11. Spent an hour or so hooking up my low level lights on brake and clutch reservoirs, Put a Tee in my oil pressure hole at back of head and now have engine oil light and mechanical gauge, So now everything on dash works, Next it's onto blower motor
  12. I'm running Bilstein Adj. coil overs and can set ride height pretty much where I want it, I think any Adj. coil over will give you the ability to put height where you want it
  13. Just think, That all started probably by the last guy in that motor did not torque a couple main bearing caps maybe, Don't feel bad the reason I'm not running original motor in my 68 cause PO put rod through the case, Which gave me excuse to build a nice hot rod motor
  14. When my brother sold his Bristol around 1972 it was a perfect specimen until he got sand blasted in a sand storm out in Palm Springs area, Then someone rear ended him, He got so bummed out he sold it
  15. When I installed my Pertronix, I just called Pertronix to get the info from the horses mouth so to speak, They just asked me for the number off my Pertronix and recommended a 3 ohm coil which I bought and installed, Runs perfect
  16. Your 1600 is the exact color and year my brother bought in 1970, Probably why I own my 68 now, Unfortunately he sold it a couple years later, I wish I new what his License # was to see if it could be same car, I'm originally from your area
  17. I wouldn't put that back together or you will be taking apart again real soon
  18. Good luck with finding a Tee, I've been looking for months and can't find one, If anybody out there knows where to find one I'm also interested
  19. I'd just take the car to alignment shop, They would be able to tell you whats going on, That's the one thing I did after putting my car together with Bilstein adj. coil overs and it drives straight as an arrow
  20. I should say the generic donut I bought I used on Ansa downpipe to Ansa mid pipe
  21. I just bought a generic donut at muffler shop, As long as you tighten evenly no problems
  22. I'm looking for hood insulation now, Maybe I'll give those a try
  23. Uh, There's tons of Covid19 in Russia, Reporting 800 plus cases but way under reported they think
