  1. I just installed mine about a year ago and it didn't fit. IE doesn't say it wont work, They just recommend the short shift kit, But they definitely should say it doesn't work with stock shifter
  2. I used IE shift plate and kept stock shifter but had to modify to get into all gears
  3. Look at my pic earlier in this post, I just unscrewed and unbolted everything from fire wall and inner wells and let it hang down, Used a small gravity gun to paint, It's a driver so I'm happy with it
  4. Stock 4spd tranny can't handle the torque, They seem to always replace trans too. Tesla motor spins to 18k but has gear reduction on motor. On the BMW touring they did budget was 40k pounds but went over budget, There ok but for that kind of money not for me. They have done two Ferrari 308's , old Fiat 550, Range Rover, Lancia Fulvia, BMW Touring and a few more, All quality builds but a lot of $$$
  5. I did mine myself, Wasn't bad, Paint store mixed up some original Granada, I used a small gun to spray assuming you have motor out
  6. The guy is so annoying it ruins the vid
  7. Exactly what I was thinking, Front and rear embossed trim not on car, In the trunk are the hub caps and a lot of other stuff. I keep going back and forth on car but after spending the last 1-1/2 yrs digging up parts for my 68 I know what a project it would be but that being said I'm still tempted
  8. I put a foam donut between trans and tunnel so I don't get any metal to metal contact
  9. I'll let you know I talked the yard with the car down to 2k, I offered 1k cause its mostly there and there are some valuable parts on it. I told him call me if he changes his mind, But I just finished a 1-1/2 year resto mod on my 68 so wasn't looking to jump into another project that soon
  10. Cars been sitting outside at least 20-30 years in the santa barbara area so it needs everything, drivetrain intact, Mostly there, some rust, I think I'll pass on this one if anybody is interested here it is. It;s at a wrecking yard https://santamaria.craigslist.org/cto/d/arroyo-grande-1967-bmw-1600-series-coupe/7115516064.html
  11. Hers a pic, It's as good as I could get. Haven't bought car yet, Still trying to figure it out
  12. I went to look at a project 1967 1600 with a VIN that started with 1519, Trying to find when it was built, The earliest I see started with 1560 . Does anybody have any info on a 1519
  13. Does right rear look the same? If not your probably looking at previous accident damage
  14. i went to Local autoparts and bought 4 sets BP6ES and BP5ES just to be safe, They were sitting on shelf all dusty, Must have been there forever
  15. I just went through this with my 68, Had beat up originals I had to get dents out of and re polish, When I fitted them I bought some small sheet metal screws and after mounting with plastic clips from the back side I screwed in the sheet metal screws in center of plastic clip to pull trim in and hold in place. I wasn't doing a concours resto though
  16. It's easy to replace, I'd do it, Or it's yanking trans out if it leaks. Rear one you can do in car
  17. If your flipping it keep original, If your keeping it paint it whatever color you like
  18. I mounted my Gertrag 245 in my 68 using the IE trans mount, Worked fine
  19. I flipped mine to remove excess camber when lowering, Cheap and effective
  20. Is that a notch at 5 o'clock, Hard to see in pic
  21. I would think the Ansa Downpipe and intermediate pipe would fit, If not just go to muffler shop and have exhaust system fabbed up, That's kinda what I ended up doing, I put a Ansa down pipe on Shorty headers then had muffler shop build pipe the rest of the way to the back with one muffler
  22. I've had my cluster out so many times it's about 2 minute job to get out
