    Ha, well I'm sure that an M2 would give anything a run for its money. Even my car with a 32/36 weber and slightly low compression feels pretty quick. Can't imagine what 200hp feels like in an 02.

    Thanks! As of right now, I'm leaving the interior as is until i get all the mechanicals sorted. After that, I'm going to have the Recaros re-upholstered and swap in an E24 rear seat.

    Scott, seeing how rare the black factory turbo is, isn't it possible that the person recognized it just as a turbo; which is an already rare car? Not doubting you, just playing devils advocate.

    Looks awesome! If I were you, I'd do the suspension work at the same time as the engine swap, that way you can corner really well when you have more power - makes for a better all-around performing car. My car has larger swaybars, Bilsteins, and stiffer, sport springs. The PO used it for AutoX and the car can seemingly take any corner we throw it at.

    The E36 is underrated IMO. When I was at a show once, someone was trying to sell his 99 M3/4door with 390,xxx miles on it. Said he'd never rebuilt the engine on it, either. Well built cars, but I wasn't going near that thing.

    M2 or M42? A decent condition, semi-high mileage S14 is at lease $5000 alone. Didn't look to see when the thread was from. Ignore my former comment.
