  1. Hi - excited to say that I'll soon be messing around with the 38/38 on my car, when it's running, that is. Wanted to ask a couple of questions here - where do you guys get an idea of what type of jets and stuff you'll put in the carb based on your build? Is there a "guide" to doing so? Is there any way to see what's in the carb now, are they marked or something? Basically I want to learn how to tune my carb for max power/torque etc, and this is step one. I'm pretty good at assembling things, but configurations/tuning/etc are not my forte. Any help is appreciated. Thank you! P.S.: If you've got a power tuned setup for 38/38 on a 2.0l M10 with 292 cam and 10.5:1 compression, E21 head, feel free give me the specs!
  2. And yes they come with pins. Sent from my HTC6535LVW using Tapatalk
  3. Nope. I would be happy to take more photos if you'd like.
  4. 425+SHIP or 445 SHIPPED this weekend. Need to get rid of them to put $ back into the build.
  5. Just one question, the Volvo/Girling Calipers are off the 240's FRONT brakes, not its rear, correct?
  6. Hi Everyone - I'd like to get rid of these pistons. I'm doing a build for my 2002 but ended up using an E21 head and, therefore, got a different set of pistons. These are a set of Ireland Engineering's cast pistons manufactured to have a 10.5:1 compression ratio and have a 90mm bore. I have never used these or even taken them out of the plastic, as you can see. I have a set of piston rings as well, and can include spec sheets or you can email Ireland for them.
  7. nice... what's your suspension set up?
  8. Hi Bill - the tan car you're referring to isn't mine. I'm sure the owner would be willing to comment though!
  9. Hi Jay - Almost everyone I know uses Center Auto Machine Shop in Stratford, CT. I have not used them personally, but all of my friends and all of the local shops use them for machine work.
  10. Cool! That's exactly what I wanted to do - find something a little rough and make a cafe racer out of it. I want to have the style handlebars that angle downward a little bit with mirrors on the ends, and then get a similar seat to yours. I'd spray the gas tank Chamonix to match my 02 and then do a black seat. What are the most common performance upgrades for them? Suspension, brakes, engine - anything. Where could I go to look at a parts catalog online or something?
  11. Hi everyone, As of now, the engine is still available for purchase. I've attached some photos to this post now for anyone who is interested.
  12. Hi - Was browsing for some suspension options and noticed that H&R makes both a "touring" and a "sport" cup kit for our cars. Does anyone have experience with these setups? They're a pretty good price - about the same as a full shock/spring set up and are less than most coilover kits. Just curious, haven't seen any discussion about them specifically pertaining to 02s.
  13. When you find something you really like, you make space for it even if you're at capacity. Also, that's a really beautiful R90. In a perfect world, I'd like one of the 900cc models as well - hopefully when the time comes along, there's one there for me to scoop up! Great resource, thank you very much for pointing me over there. I don't have a bike yet, so I won't be "around," but I'll certainly be reading up about them!
  14. Hello all, I've been looking at old BMW bikes online as of late and am really starting to like them. I was curious if anyone on here shares this interest and could point me in the direction of a forum like the FAQ that's dedicated to BMW bikes, or just old bikes in general. I'd also appreciate a referral to some parts retailers, so I can see the different upgrade parts available, as I did with Ireland Engineering/BavAuto/Rogers Tii before I bought my 02. I love looking online at all the different aftermarket options for vehicles even if I don't plan on purchasing one for a while - as it helps me to learn more about the vehicle and its capabilities. Thank you!
  15. Price:: 600 Location: : Connecticut Hi Everyone - A friend of mine is selling the M10 out of his 2002. It has 112,000 original miles and ran great when it was pulled. When in the car, it had great compression and leakdown test results. Price for the engine is $600. Also for sale, if interested, is a Weber 32/36 downdraft carburetor with around 300 miles on it. It was put on for a summer and then removed again. Price on the carb is $350. Feel free to message me with any questions or inquiries about either of the two. Thank you.
  16. Car has been sold! Thanks everyone for their interest.
  17. Year:: 1972 Make:: BMW Model:: 2002 Price:: 10500 Location: : CT Hello Everyone, A good friend of mine is letting go of his Nevada '72 2002 and has asked me to post it here on his behalf. If you are interested, feel free to message me and I will connect you with the owner. Photos of the car are attached to this post, with one bonus of his car together with mine. His advertisement, is found below: Up for sale is my Nevada on Brown 1972 BMW 2002. Equipped with a 4 speed manual, 2.0L M10, solex carb. Very rare color, only found on some pre-73 models, original to the car. Originally from the midwest, the car is bone stock and has been owned and meticulously maintained by enthusiasts for it's entire life (as of 8/19, the car has not seen rain or snow in the past three years). VIN is 2578813, numbers match all around. Mechanical: - The car needs absolutely nothing but a driver. One of the best driving 02s I have ever had the privilege to pilot- total riot to drive, even with 98 horsepower and a 4 speed manual. - The motor recently returned an excellent compression test- 85, 82, 85, and 84 PSI respectively. - Steering is tight and the car feels very agile, especially considering it's age and specification. Other than the odometer/speedometer, everything works. In the past month, the following (and more) has been done by Sports Car Restoration in Plainville, CT, who are possibly the best 2002 specialists on the east coast: - Radiator - 71 degree thermostat - NGK Spark Plugs - Distributor Cap + Rotor - Ignition Condenser - Ignition Points - Bremi Ignition Wire Set - Back Up Light Switch - Alternator Bushings - Fuel + Oil Filters - 20W-50 engine oil change - 360mm mechanical fan - Clutch Slave Cylinder - Brake Pads - Rear Wheel Cylinders - Rear brake shoes - Wheel bearings - Transmission Mount - Early-style brake master cylinder - Control arms + bushings - Inner control arm bolts/spacers/washers - Front Ball Joints - Sway Bar Bushings/End links - Waterpump-to-thermostat coupler hose - Water neck-to-thermostat hose - Lower radiator hose - (Tires are also relatively new, and hard to come by because of their specification.) Invoice can be presented upon request Cosmetic: - Paint is in very good shape, only a few small rust bubbles and blemishes. - All rubber gaskets are in very good shape as well, not dried or worn out. - Chrome is overall great- a few small blemishes here and there, but nothing that can't be buffed out. - Interior is excellent and is almost completely original to the car. - Headliner has no rips or sags, seats are also in great shape aside from a couple rips in the drivers seat. - Dashboard has no cracks - Doorcards in excellent shape - Non-original stereo, but works very well Overall cons: - Non-working Speedometer/Odometer. Car is estimated to have around 101K miles. - Front seat has a few small rips - Car is originally from the Midwest, so there is some rust. The worst areas are on the rockers, nothing structural I drove the car on a 300 mile trip last weekend and can assure that it is possibly one of the best driving 2002s on the market. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car anywhere. I'd love to keep it but there are too many cars in the family and I simply am not around enough to drive it. I will definitely regret letting it go. Many more pics on request. Asking $10,500 or best offer.
  18. What are the specs on your engine with that big airbox? Haha Sent from my HTC6535LVW using Tapatalk

  21. No, but I think in the articles section there's a guide to building one for an 02. Matt
  22. Wow, what luck. Browsing instagram, saw this car, wanted to find out what kind of wheels it had. Quick FAQ search leads me here, to this thread. There it is! What kind of wheels are you running, BMWnKTM? Question answered.
