That's shredded rubber and oil, a lovely combo that makes a skookum spider trap.

I'm surprised it hasn't set off the Service Guibo Soon light, because it certainly looks like the guibo 

failure sensor's been properly triggered...

You know, that's exactly what it sounded like.  Couldn't figure it out man... It's all hazy now...  It was expensive man...
