Mike, I tried this and it doesn't work. It reaches and all but just not enough to fasten the neck at the top of the filler. I made that mistake and now I have a very nice tank with the long neck cut off. I will post picture for you.

I did it! I kissed the 325i while I was wearing my tights and while I was kissing the BMW, I asked a lady passing by to write a note!
