Working my through the layers, forgot to take pictures of 14Ga steel stiffener, welded on/installed and primed…attached is a picture of the one to the other side/driver-side not installed yet…

Barney, welcome back. I'm assuming that your stiffener takes the place of the sheet metal plate that would normally sandwich between the inner and out sills (IIRO, the full cabs had a, internal box-like structure beyond the simple plate)? What sort of flex are you getting in your Targas? You are well on your way to becoming THE authority on Baur Targas. Appreciated.

   Rainy Saturday here, worked all day on the Baur.

1) Marked and cut side panel, to slide repair panel under with out removing the rusty area on wheel arch…repair panel is clamped in place to mark and put layout marks.

2) removed repair panel, and replaced the interior wheel trim. Using the repair panel for placement on the interior wheel repair panel.

3) repair panel dry fit and set with screws.

4) welded in place not beautiful, ran out of gas…

Mike Pugh is the Baur Authority and fountain knowledge that I drank from at least three or four times already on this Baur refresh…

 

the Baur seem plenty stiff just trying to over do it…

1) middle 14 gauge steel stiffener that I cut off to repair remove rust.

2) stiffer, dry fit, bolted in place before painting and installing.

   Thursday was a great day Greg Resa stopped by to visit this morning, after that things fell together mostly finished with passenger side repairs filled in the hole at removed side marker light, rough fit the front fender…

Perhaps op has addressed this elsewhere (?) but I'm curious as to why the gas welding?  I'm not a welder nor metalworker, just curious...
