Opinions on these Strut Towers

Here's another auto in WA, not that far from the other one.

Needs some work & trucking back east, but the price leaves some room for improvement, and, as it's been for sale some time, Seller may come down some more.

I'll say that dealer has been in business there for a long time he has a lot of interesting iron in there I always wanted to stop in but never have. That car for that price looks interesting but I love Atlantik blue.

Seth - There is an auto listed on the San Diego Craigslist.  It's in Encinitas which is about 40 or so miles north of downtown San Diego.  Limited images shown in the listing but maybe this seller is willing to take whatever photos you need.

My mistake, this listing is from a month ago so there is a good chance it is not still available.  But it is in the San Luis Rey/Oceanside area, I am staying about a 20 min drive from there for the next few days. If you find out the seller still has the car and you are interested I could go down and take a look at it tomorrow or Wednesday for you.

I've bought two cars off Craigslist--both E30 318is's:  one in OK and the other in FL (I'm in Ohio).  Both were as advertised--in fact the FL car was actually nicer than the pictures.  Once that owner (a really nice guy) realized I was a car guy (and a Bimmerphile to boot) and not some kid that was gonna hot rod his baby (he and a friend had owned it since new) he came way down on the price, as he had listed it to scare off the kids and scammers.  I paid a fair price and got a beautiful car--then drove it home with nary a hiccup.  Drove the OK car home too--no problems with it either.

So there are good deals out there, but it's a lot easier to deal with someone who isn't being a rectum about the whole process.

I can understand the appeal of starting with an automatic, but body repairs can easily push the costs and time line over a steep cliff, especially if you arent doing some of the work. I'd be looking for a solid body, and deal with mechanical bits from there.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
