That feeling you get when you wash your car for the first time in six months... and you can't tell the difference.  #vintageprep #deadpaint ?

Lots of progress, still lots to do.

Got the center console fully installed, wired up, and working.

Installed a new (used) radiator

Installed new (used) seats

Got some fancy schmancy window cranks

Ran the new ducting for the heater box

Got a new trim clip to replace the 1 missing one i had

All of the heater box duct joints and attachments were 3d printed, which was really cool. The picture with the black ugly vent looking things... I have to finish sanding and painting those and then they snap in to replace the old heater control faceplates since i now route air through there. Those are 3d printed as well.

Still have to get the under-dash covers in place and affix the passenger defrost hose in place. Also have to tweak my software so it doesn't try to move all the servos when only one changed. That will quiet it down a lot. Though it's a lot louder on camera than it is in real life. And it was really quiet out there at the time of recording...

You know... all the little details. :)

They're Rota RBs. 15x7 +25 et.  Tires are BFG GForce Sport. 195/55-15.

I get a front tire rub on slow hard right turns.  I also need to replace all the front end bushings before I say the tires are too big for the car.  Most others don't have rubbing issues with this setup.

Cocomats showed up just in time for the vintage!

Now all I need are some under-dash panels to hide those wires!

The Coco mats look terrific! That Nardi steering wheel is gorgeous! Is that a Koogle console ( did I misspell it) ? I really like that console with the cup holders!

Yes, the console gauge mount is Koogleworks.  The cup holder is something I designed and 3D Printed specifically for the factory console.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
