Although these pictures in the link below are posted on an E21 forum, there's sure a lot of wheels BMW to consider, or not! Regarding Blue 02 Borrani's, I can't find any Borrani wheels of that era that are quite that tan in color, but that's probably my own ignorance as to the various hues these wheels were available in back in the day. Please post a picture once they are mounted on your car! The shop looks like they did a great job with the refinishing. Thanks!

Through a stroke of luck I was able to buy a set of four 5” R-439 Alpina rims. I had them shipped directly to Sports Car Restoration  for a full resto, I love the way they turned out. Matt is a wizard with Borranis! While they were there I was offered another set of five out of the blue. It was quite an adventure with all of them as the first set good, but needed some work and the second set sustained some dents in the rim lip during shipping unfortunately. So, a bit of advice for anyone shipping wheels internationally. Make sure they have substantial shock proofing in the box. Even those these seem almost bullet proof they are no match for the frustrated DHL/USPS workers that have to pick them up! Anyway, here is the rundown of dates which are not all the same:

They look awesome. You may need more cars!

I like the paint on the top 4 best. My opinion.

I was getting concerned - there wasn't another post to this thread for a few months. 🙂

Yes! The top 4 are the ones restored by SCR with the “correct” white aluminum satin finish color previously discussed on this thread. The unfinished one is going to SCR, but as much as I would love to get the other 4 also done the budget has already been busted.

Hello everyone I’m coming on here to see if anyone would be kind enough to either point me in the right direction or help me with finding one 13x5.5 borrani with circle holes??

I am slightly desperate as I only have a set of three wheels and would like to have a complete set of 4 wheels!

Best, Diego

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
