  1. Mine didn't go so well. The "S" shaped tail pipe was too small for the muffler opening and wouldn't clamp tight. It keeps drooping. I'll have to take it somewhere to weld it on. The system sure is beautiful to look at though.
  2. autohausAZ for $2.84! 06A103485F Uro Parts Oil Filler Cap; Plastic Replacement type cap, may not be identical to original in appearance but function is correct 1 per car. I have the correct "pie crust" cap but wasn't happy with the crap coming out from the center of it. I'll do some extensive cleaning and rehab for that one before it gets close to this motor ; )
  3. No Earl, it is a Bosch 008 tii mech. advance distributor mated up with a Crane XR3000 electronic module. Don't know how it all works yet but I hope to find out Monday. I used NeverDull cotton wadding to bring back the original luster. Sorry I missed you at the Tom Williams HOD event...I was wrenching on this one. John G was kinda blown away when you told him you have a million miles on your 02. I told him that with your history I believe it : )
  4. But I bet not Birmingham, Alabama. Hi y'all!
  5. 350-360mm is a better tradeoff. Any larger gets in the way and any smaller you have to be Franz "pumped up" to turn the wheel at low speed.
  6. This end of the project is done for now. IE stainless exhaust goes in tonight, dash and seats this weekend, alignment on Monday...then watch out!
  7. Nothing special, any alignment shop can do this.
  8. every 2002 up to 74 had exhaust that exited on the passenger side. 75-76 exited the center. IE sells both types.
  9. I'll take the front turn signal housing if the plastic is not cracked. $25 + shipping to 35173? Hobibill AT gmail DOT com
  10. Mine is on its way...I'm so excited! (dork.) I will post here how the install goes. Are there any lessons learned out there for the newly redesigned unit? What doesn't come in the "kit" that I should have on hand for the job? Jason, I've already read your posts on the subject ; )
  11. Way to start my weekend with a good laugh. Thanks.
  12. I don't know but I am so grateful the guy who painted my car didn't pull the harness all of the way out. He had taken everything loose to the point the OP was at, coiled the harness up on each side of the firewall and did the paintwork. The tape is pretty ratty right at the firewall but I have had a real easy time hooking things back up. Oh great! Did I just jinx myself?
  13. Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry to hear this. I just bought a part from him less than a month ago. After the fact he emailed to tell me that his estimate for shipping was a little off and that he had refunded the difference. Classy guy.
  14. Jason, only you are in control of your inner noob. What does it matter what others think of your status? You must first be at peace with yourself then and only then can you truthfully assess your noobness. But, one that has very nearly disassembled an entire 2002 can hardly be counted among the uninitiated. HTH
  15. I was going to sell my automatic after the project car's completion but my wife said "No, I'm keeping Otto." Now I have another rebuild, yea!
  16. c.d.'s posts are always most informative. Yep, it looks like I can avoid all of that rigamarole by bypassing number 2 in the diagram. Thanks all.
  17. Man, I love the FAQ! Thanks Stone, that's exactly what I needed. Can't wait to get home and try it.
  18. +1 on the wheels. Looks really great...but the first thing you gotta do is git rid of that steering wheel. Send it to me
  19. I have tried joining the two Neutral safety switch wires, no help. The starter is good, I just shorted across the terminals and it turned the engine over. I'm guessing that maybe the hazard switch has to be plugged in?
