  1. Don't waste your time painting the worn out emblem, the results won't be that great. You can still buy the emblems from any BMW stealership. The front emblem I just bought was $45 and has the appropriate raised letters and dividers and is oh so beautiful.
  2. I think you found it. I too had this noise and tried several different fixes until I got to the belt line trim around the front of the hood. I snapped it back in place with some new clips...no more noise.
  3. I got the hard lines from Blunt, about $6 each, and a pair of brake-line pliers to shape them from Eastwood for $20 delivered. You're welcome to my old pre-bent lines if u want them ;-) Edit: those are the lines that run from the strut housing to the caliper.
  4. Here's what an experienced rebuilder/racer just told me: Use alcohol to purge the lines. You can let it drain onto the floor and it'll just evaporate. No worries with paint damage either. Once the lines are purged with alcohol blast them with compressed air. Now your lines are clear and dry, hook 'em up and fill the system with brake fluid.
  5. The shift platform is an 8 of 10 and the rectangular rubber shift accordian is a 9. $50 shipped. Leave your email address here for better pictures.
  6. These are the the three oval drain tubes to drain water out of the fresh air well below the windshield. Looking for three in very god condition, I thought mine wee good but they have splits in them. Hobibill AT gmail COM
  7. The pedal box is held in by 8 hex head bolts. Does anybody know the size? M8x30?
  8. Thanks guys. Alex, I replied to your email.
  9. I need number 22 in this diagram. The thing that makes the round peg fit in the square opening. http://www.bmwmobiletradition-online.com/bmw/diagrams/r/w/30.png
  10. My project car brake lines have been dry for 20 years. I want to run some fluid through them to ensure no dust etc. makes it into the calipers. Is there anything other than brake fluid I could use that is a little more environmentally friendly while not compromising the brake system? Mineral oil? Im just thinking that this process uses an extra quart of BF and im not sure that can be recycled with used oil. I will follow that procedure with a bleed of new brake fluid, then hook the lines up to the calipers and cylinders.
  11. Thanks Marc. Did you mount your box at the original coil location...at least that's where the coil is on my 76. The intake on your car looks great.
  12. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks David, that's a nice looking set up. Where'd you get the wires?
  13. Show me where you mounted 'em.
  14. Man, I'm glad I'm not alone. At least my parts hoard supports two o2's ;-)
  15. Holy cow! That would be late seventies...76 to be exact and they are pretty rare. Me thinks. Good find, someone should get on these right away.
  16. The AL2002 group is getting together tomorrow morning at 0830 at Bernetti's Diner http://www.bernettisdiner.com/ After breakfast we will be attending the SCCA autocross event at the Verizon Amphitheatre. ALL YOU B'HAM AREA LURKERS, COME ALONG.
  17. Well, I got the 91 degree C fan switch but failed to check this board and have no idea as to why I picked that switch. I think my reasoning was that when my temp gauge was at that point (exact middle) is when i wanted the electric fan to kick in. See this post: http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,57/page,viewtopic/t,358682/
  18. Thought about that but think they would just vibrate loose.
  19. I'm not sure what I'm going to use. I don't want to dork up the old plastic either. They look so good in the dash...just wish they worked as advertised.
  20. I just bought a set that was delivered two weeks ago. They do NOT snap fit the late model (74-76) panel. They must be glued in. For this kind of money they should work as advertised. eBay rating will suffer!
  21. I need the one that c.d. posted...but bigger and readable. Where can we get a good blown up (11x17) clear version?
