  1. I'll be working on my 02 all this weekend. If I get her running I'm there. Noon would work for me. It will be in June, right? David P.S. The SR-71 Blackbird is the coolest plane I've ever seen...............But if I saw one of these flying toward me, I would shit myself!! http://www.combataircraft.com/aircraft/hmi24.aspx
  2. I saw a sweet BMW 1600 today at the Taco Bell parking lot on Figueroa St. near USC around 1 p.m. It was Nevada and super clean. My girlfriend had to keep me from jumping out of my car to look at it. Man, that thing was nice! If the owner is here on the FAQ, Dude, your car is awesome!! David
  3. If I can get my 02 running by then................Im there. David
  4. I run Pertronix and I use the original black coil and it runs fine. Is your distribitor a mechanical or vacuum advance? That might be the problem. It might be getting stuck and not advancing the timing as your RPM's increase. Good luck!
  5. Looks nice! Now get some aftermarket springs and slam it!
  6. Ooohhh!!! That would go nice with my old K98 Mauser!!
  7. Hey, I also have a 76. I added an Ireland Engineering 22mm front swaybar after I installed some Bilstein sports and springs. When my 02 ran (brake problems) it cornered so well. Very little body roll with this bar. It Made taking corners SO MUCH FUN!! Man, I miss it! Cant wait to get her back on the road!! Good Luck!! www.bmw2002.com David
  8. Are those NEW! BBS RS 3 piece wheels? You're a very, very lucky man. You should buy a lotto ticket!! David
  9. Hi, Emery. My switch was unplugged. And I have no brake light warning problems. The plastic thingy were the switch connected to the diff is actually broken....................hmmmm..............I wonder if thats causing this. David
  10. Hey, Pierre. The guys at Ireland told me it could be the slave because it is connected to the brake resevoir. And if its leaking, air could be entering through the slave and into the master. But, it looked okay to me. The Tii master cylinder was bought new months ago, so I dont know if its still under warranty. Ive checked all my brake lines and I have seen no leaks. I also bled them in order.......RR, LR, RF and LF. Im STUMPED!!!!! Thanks! David
  11. My master cylinder was working fine too! I dont have my BMW manual with me but I think the order is inside top, inside bottom and outside middle...........I think? David
  12. I have a '76 2002 with Irelands big brake kit, SS brake lines and a Tii master cylinder. No matter how much I bleed the fluid I cant get any brake pressure. I even purchased a one man pressurized brake bleeder kit from Bav Auto, and bled. I got a little pressure after pumping the brakes, but as soon as I stopped pumping, the pressure went away. I talked to the guys at Ireland and they said the master cylinder or slave cylinder, or both, could be bad. I checked the slave and it looks ok. When I replaced the stock master with the Tii master, thats when the problems started. My question is this, what else should I check before purchasing a new master cylinder? Is there anything else that could be causing this problem? When I bleed the brakes I hardly get any air bubbles, so I think there is no air in the brake system. The booster is ok, worked fine with my old brakes. I will be moving soon and want to take my 02 with me!! Any info will be GREATLY appreciated! Thank You! David
  13. Im thinking of ordering some parts from them. Mainly a master and slave cylinder for my 02. Does anyone have any experience with this place? Good? Bad? Thanks. David
  14. NICE!!!! My neighbor has one in his yard along with 20 other cars. Car is a rusted heap. Drop in a 20v 4AGE!!!! That would be sweet!!
  15. Two words: engine swaps. Anything from the SR20DET (Silvia) to the VG30E from the old 300zx Z31's. The little 510 will digest them all. I wish we had such variety with our 02's. I've also read about a 450hp 510 with a 13b turbo rotary. If I saw one of these on the street I probably would'nt mess with it..........unless I had a 2.5l S14 under my hood! David
  16. I believe some one on the FAQ has done this. Ive seen photos before. Looks very period correct but with modern equipment. Im sure they will chime in soon. David
