Jeff, I have a Haltech F10X system, which I ran in my 2002 for about a week. I went back to my 32/36 Weber because I needed a wideband O2 meter to road tune it, and havent been able to buy one because Im so broke. I am willing to let eveything go. 318i Manifold and throttle body, water divider, fuel rail, new Ford 19lb injectors, new GM coolant, air temp and MAP sensors. I know its not a Megasquirt but my wife and I have fallen on hard times and can use some extra income. Please email me if you are interested or if you need some more info. I think I have what you are looking for. I pulled a set from a junked 320i and I believe they are Vial wheels. They are made in France and are gold with a silver lip. I have 2 on the rear of my 02 now and the other 2 at home. One has a mildly bent lip but the others are ok. Im at work now but I can take a photo when I get home later tonight.

Ive got it all. Air cleaner from my 76 2002, Weber adapter, Rubber air thingy, summer box, brackets that mounts it to the intake manifold. It also has a K&N air filter thats only a few months old. I turned 30 last month. So far I've had................ 1. 1988 Ford Tempo. Complete POS! Turned me off to American cars forever! 2. 1989 Nissan 300ZX. Loved the car! Ran it into the ground. 3. 1987 Cadillac Eldorado. Loner from my Dad. It was PINK!!! Hated it. 4. 1990 Nissan 240SX. Loved it. Gave it to my girl and she loved it too. Sold it in April of this year. Will buy another one before I take a dirt nap. 5. 1998 Nissan 200SX. Mega economy car. Got me 38 MPG on a trip to Vegas last year. Love it. Begging for suspension upgrades. 6. 1976 BMW 2002. When I bought it it had a nice interior, working A/C, looked nice and was 100% stock. Now the interior is stripped, A/C gone. Ireland suspension, Bilstein sports. Corners like a MOFO! Who needs a shrink when you have this!!! Will never sell. 7. 1987 Nissan 300ZX. My Dad's old Z. Soon to be mine!!

I was going to rally out my 2002, but instead I lowered and stiffened the hell out of the suspension. I was even going to paint it like the rally 02 in the photo. I grew up on a small hillside in Los Angeles, near South Pasadena. When I got my first hand-me-down POS car I would tear up and down the hillside and the short fire road. Man, that was fun! The fire road was only about half a mile long and would actually take me to within a block of my high school. The city later gated it up because they had a training facility there and also because a few dead bodies turned up to. But I do miss that! Driving up and down Angeles Crest Highway is fun too but there are to many cars and especially cops on that road. Damn, John. You got me thinking I should do some off road excursions with my 02. I'm smiling right now thinking of the all the old shit I used to do! It would be so much more fun in my 2002! Hmmmm.........................

Look for an E21 handle like John said. Mine was obliterated and duct tape can only go so far. I found one at a local junkyard and it fit great, although it was very tight fit. Beats duct tape!!

I bought one from ebay for $75. It was a rebuilt 80 amp unit. Its been in my 02 for about 3 weeks. Actually when I desmogged my 02 a few years ago and replaced the thermal reactor with a standard 2002 cast iron manifold, the cast manifold weighed more then the thermal reactor. I was surprised. I did feel an improvement in performance though.

When I removed my intake manifold I removed the starter for more access and room to fit my wrench. It was a pain because it was in the car. All it takes is your wrench and some patience. Good luck!

I have a high amp alternator I got at a local junkyard. When I start my 02 it turns on just fine, but when I disconnect the battery (with the car running) the car will just die. Is this normal or is the car supposed to stay on? The "L" charging light has not turned on. I'm trying to trouble shoot before I spend some $$$ for a remanufactured alternator. I've had this alternator on my 02 for about 4 months. And this has been happening within the last couple of weeks. I does drain the battery when the car is running. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry for the longish post. I'll try to explain everything that happened and everything I did. 1. Got off of work last night and started my 02. Car started right up but I did notice that the interior lights and headlights were dimmer than usual. Drove home (1 mile) and all the lights were significantly dimmer. I turned the car off, and it didn't turn back on. Battery had power but not enough to crank the engine. 2. I first suspected the 55 amp alternator that I picked up from a junked 320i at the junkyard. It worked well for a couple of months but I figured it had died. Fortunatly I had my tools and my old working 35 amp alternator in our garage so I swapped them. The L alternator charging light never turned on, though. 3. After swapping alternators, I grabbed the battery from my girls Taurus and used jumper cables to jump start my 02. I checked all the connections and cranked the engine. Car started up right away and all seemed well. After about a minute of running the car, I disconnected the jumper cable from the negative battery post and clamped it to the chassis. The car immediately died. I tried to turn the car back on but I had no power at all. No lights worked. Gauge cluster warning and the brake light didn't work. The only lights that worked were the fog lights that draw power directly from the battery, so the battery had some power left. 4. Stumped, I checked to see if I installed the alternator wiring correctly. It was then I realized that I had totally forgot to plug in the voltage regulator which I had removed when I installed the 55 amp alternator! Damn! I reinstalled the VR. I checked the relays, they all looked good. I checked the fuses. The only blown fuse was the number 11 fuse, which is for the highbeams? I replaced it. Still no power at all. I checked my wiring under the hood and under the dash and didn't find and burnt or unplugged wires. I finally gave up at around 1:30am when my girl told me to get some sleep. So we pushed the car into the garage and called it a night. What else can I check? Can it be the ignition switch? I have the OG BMW blue repair manual and the Haynes one too. Unfortunately I didn't have them with me. Any info would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks. Have a great day.

Put $20 in my 02 on Tuesday. Got about 4 1/2 gallons. Gas was $4.29 per gallon. Today it was $4.35! Im SO HAPPY my girlfriend and I got an apartment only a mile from our jobs. Im gonna start walking to work, the gas companies can kiss my ass!
