  6. Sorry to hear about your experience. I've bought things from them. Of course I live about 20 minutes away and have never had anything shipped. I've heard they ship VERY slow. Try Maximillian, Bav Auto or Autohaus Arizona. Ive ordered things from both Max and Bav. Both were great. Good luck. www.bavauto.com www.autohausarizona.com www.bimmer.com
  7. Well, its kind of normal to have the engine compartment smell like gas alittle. Check your fuel lines. If they are the original Im sure they've cracked or torn. If your passenger cabin smells like gas, its more than likely coming from the trunk. Check your gas tank to see if it has small holes from rust or from old age. Next check the rubber hose that connects the tank with the outside quarter panel fuel inlet. If its an original it probably has a few cracks and holes. Lastly check your truck gasket. A worn gasket will allow gas fumes to enter the cabin. I had the same problem and replaced the rubber inlet hose in the trunk and the trunk gasket and all is well. Good luck! David
  8. Yeah, it was fun. I've never seen so many clean 2002's. Guess I better get to work! I'll be there for the next one! David
  9. Good luck with the build, dude! Here are some good tips................... http://www.epemag.wimborne.co.uk/solderpix.htm David
  10. Hope you can get her running in time. My 02 will be MIA. Its got a broken transmission mount But I'll be taking my Dads 1969 Chevy Nova! Hope to see you there!! David
  11. On my 76, they were there to help hold down the cardboard, sound supressing cover over the transmission tunnel and on the inside of the firewall. I simply hammered them down, out of the way.
  12. Open the hood and look at the heater valve. Its on the passenger side of the car. See if the control cable is still attached to it. Move the temp. knob and see if the heater valve arm moves back and forth. If the valve is stuck, new ones are pricey. Ive never fixed or restored one. Im sure others will chime in with thier experiences. Mine would stick and I sprayed it with WD40 and it moved again. But I know I probably need new one. Good luck David
  13. Your heater valve might be stuck in the open position.
  14. I saw a white roundie with the Track R wheels a few months ago on the corner of Adams and Figueroa here in Los Angeles. It looked awesome! They were black with a chrome lip. Car also had Alpina bubble flares. I wish I had my camera! David
  15. Well, the defroster in mine has never worked. So I had to keep a rag handy to wipe the inside of the windsheild whenever it would fog up. Water would drain into the cabin through the doors window cranks because the previous owner removed the plastic sheets you put on the inside of the doors. Other than that it was ok. Having all the windows fog up in the rain was freaky because I could'nt see a damn thing! This is when I used my '76 daily. I now have a '98 200sx mule as my daily driver. I miss having to drive with my windows down and my head out in the pouring rain. Thats really the only time I could see anything! Please make sure your defroster works. AND WELL!! David
  16. Sorry, I dont have pics. I'm at work Here in Los Angeles (Downtown)the roads suck. Transit busses and big rigs leave the road choppy. I've hit some gnarly pot holes and have never had the suspension bottom out. The rear springs have about 3 or 4 inches of travel before they hit the bump stops. Fronts are about the same. Of course if I were to hit a pot hole at a high speed the suspension would certainly bottom out. Have'nt done that yet. David
  17. I have these on my 76 with Bilstein sport shocks and love the combo. Ride is firm, but very comfortable. They did lower my car about an inch. I later removed the aluminum spacers on the strut bearings to lower the car alittle more. They are worth the price. The guys at Ireland are cool too. If you want your car lower you could always trim off a coil to suit your taste or get their stage 2 springs. Good luck. P.S. Im running E30 bottlecap wheels and tires and have no rubbing problems. David
  18. Hey, thanks everyone. Jeff, I am in Los Angeles. Can you email me and maybe I can pick it up? Thanks. David a2002geek@hotmail.com
  19. I dont why all those wires run to and from the hazard switch. When I talked to the guys from 2002AD they said that if the clicker in the hazard switch fails, the turn signals will fail too. They must be wired together in some way. I couldn't believe it was something so simple. I was checking fuses and wires for shorts everywhere. I was also going to purchase a turn signal assembly from 2002AD when they told me to check the hazard switch. That saved me over $100! See if a fellow FAQer in your area has on lying around or has one you can borrow to see if thats the problem. Good luck! David
  20. I had my turn signals go out once and it turned out to be the hazard switch. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out what the problem was. Bought one from 2002AD for like $8 and its been fine ever since. Good luck! David
  21. Does anyone know where I can get an adapter to run the original 2002 air cleaner on my 32/36 Weber? Or does anybody have one they would like to get rid of. Heres a link to a photo. Thanks. David http://www.dagsites.com/images/air_cleaner_mod/adapter.jpg
