  1. use a carb synchrometer like sk, unisyn, just like tuning side draft carbs 1 screw per barrrel.
  2. go buy fiberglass ones which are exact replicas of an oem fender, available thru the faq at only $275 each. lightweight, no more rust!
  3. try bike stores preferably not american bikes european or japanese, they will have those screws you need.
  4. i was on holidays the whole week in south jersey and checked out the local junk yard close to where i was staying in mays landing. there is a 6 series with tan seats still in excellent shape (rear), 15" 3 piece rims and an e21 automatic with a 3.64 lsd. btw back seats are $7 each only, . the back head rests and tailights alone are worth $200 in fleabay, the door sill plates and striker cover plates are worth $$$ the center grille and doors are $$$, the 5 speed tranny is a 2 piece unit so u can sell these to e9 coupe or e30 m3 guys for $$$. the e21 lsd will cost 25$ + $20 core this junkyard had a complete e28 M5 a couple of months back and my friend bobby pulled the motor, tranny, diff, whole interior, wheels for $300 + 100 core charge for the motor, tranny and diff. sold all the parts for $2500. i could have went back and pulled all those parts, but it was just too hot for me and i was not about to ruin my vacation with my family over a day on the junkyard. so guys who are close to south jersey, jon, mike, casey? the name of the junkyard is dirkes it is right on the black horse pike in may landing, nj about 40 mins from philly or about 1hr 30 from north jersey DIRKES GARAGE Address BLACK HORSE PIKE Phone # (609) 625-1718 City, State, Zip MAYS LANDING, NJ, 8330 Toll Free # (800) 328-414<
  5. $435 + shipping allow 4-5 weeks for delivery
  6. one way is ship the parts to a friend who lives close to the border and pick it up there. another way is order thru blunt. i can get parts for you direct from the bmw canada at a discount, but somehow we are still pricier. all mechanical and electrical parts i source locally from carquest, canada parts online, metrix and they are sometimes cheaper than us sellers. my friend richard has some nos parts. cheers, dave
  7. go to the 2002faq store. this site sells dbilas of germany camshafts which are same or better quality than schrick, cheaper too.
  8. 280 or 284. dbilas makes both and is available thru the faq store 292 and up will give you a lumpy idle and fuel issues such as low end driveability. you may run rich or lean on certain rpm's with the stock kfish unless you replace the internal cam to match your cam profile. cahsel and schimmer tuning sell them for $$$. you have to remember that a high lift longer duration cam will also lower your cr by half a point or less? especially cam profiles higher than 300 degrees. btw very early us and euro tii's had 10:1 cr.
  9. you carbs came from an alfa romeo 1300 or 1600 as you jetting specs indicate. you need to run at least 34mm chokes minimum. chokes 34 or 36 mm main 130-140 air 175-185 idle 55f8/f9 pump jet 40 or 45 needle valve 200 or 225 emulsion tube f9 is ideal f16 ok aux choke/venturis 4.5 cheers, dave
  10. dbilas ecu's 10.010.003a Control unit dbtronic 2000 1482.75 euros (to be driven with a sport filter or intake trumpets as well) incl. wiring harness, idle control valve, manifold airpressure sensor, air- and water temperature sensor, small parts, without Lambda- and Knocksensor (only for 4-cylinder engines). (Further information you find on product introduction site: Products - Engine control units - Universally applicable engine control units) 90.000.000 Control unit dbtronic 3000 1838.61 euros (to be driven with a sport filter or intake trumpets as well) incl. wiring harness, throttle body potentiometer, ignition coil block, idle control valve, etc. with Lambda- and Knocksensor (only for 4-cylinder engines). (Further information you find on product introduction site: Products - Engine control units - Universally applicable engine control units)
  11. it depends on whether you want electronic or mechanical fuel injection and also how much are you willing to spend. for itb (individual throttle bodies) i can sell you a complete dbilas or vgs setup with or without the programable ecu. or you can buy the throttle bodies (available in 40, 45, 48, and 50 mm) and the dbilas intake manifold, then just get your own programmable efi unit from dbilas, vgs, edis, weber alpha etc... you need to use a tii fuel tank with an e30 or e28 fuel pump or a regular 02 tank with an e30 in tank fuel pump pick up. i sell dbilas tuning products from germany. i can also get a brand new set engenmann (germany) integral mechanical injection throttle body and manifold, (very similar to alpina a4's, but with this setup the intake manifold and throttle bodies are all on one assembly), a brand new alpina street or race kuglefischer pump. how about a schnitzer slide throttle for an m10? it is just missing the air trumpets, and injectors, i am sure it can be used with a modified kfish pump just pm me. dave
  12. facet red top, purolator, mitsuba or why don't you use your stock mechanical pump
  13. before you decide on buying jets and chokes, why don't you post the jet and choke specs on your side draft carbs and we can go from there and i can give you a baseline setting. also post what goes into a korman stage 2 i.e. cam duration, piston size and compression, head work, what exhaust system you are using and what driving style do you do (pedal to the metal all the time, occasional pedal to the metal, highway cruiser, stop light racer, etc..) then i can give you a more closer recommended setting. i buy from metrix (interco) or pierce manifolds all my weber needs. pm me or post it here cheers, dave
  14. i don't know if ms can run alpha n i do know other aftermarket boxes that cost more will run on alpha n, they even can program your launch control for like drag racing.
  15. took me 5 years of bugging and haggling with the seller. my persistence finally paid off. it cost me a pittance but i think of it as an investment. here is a sample of what the other guy ended up with.
  16. a few of them will end up fs in fleabay in the fall maybe when i have time to open all the bins. i just have to do an inventory first. too bad i only got the small stash, the other guy bought most of the other stuff like complete engines with tranny's, body kits, wheels, drive train stuff suspension, brakes etc...
  17. i just picked up from canada customs this skid of old used and nos alpina parts that i bought from germany. can't wait to open up the bins of parts. the ones in the wooden boxes are all sport and race camshafts.
  18. someone in germany makes it but it is very expensive to buy and ship. around $2-3K!
  19. running rich? poor gas mileage? sounds like floats are not adjusted properly or: -idle jet size big -idle mixture screws turn out too far, try turning them in and out and see where idle speed is at the highest and smoothest and hold it on that spot, theres 4 of them do it one at a time. -are your carbs sync'd? -cold start sticking meaning they might be in the open position anyway you did not post if your carbs are brand new or used and what your jet and choke sizes (idle, air, main, emulsion tube, needle valve, pump jet etc..) anyway you can always pm me if you need to ask more questions, it is best to call me and i can give you the walk thru over the phone while your motor is running. all you need is a good flat screwdriver to adjust webers. save your $$$ carb tuning can be done over the phone. like i showed blunt over the phone how it is done. cheers, dave
  20. is this guy based in germany? the lars i know also works for alpina before.
  21. pat, thew 1502 and early 1600 have a lot of parts in common, the front brakes are similar both single line and you can get the caliper rebuild kits from any parts dealer, tell 'em it is for a 1502/1600. the clutch disc and plate is similar too except the 1502 is hydraulic. the brake mc cylinder from the 1502 will bolt directly on your 1600. you can also use an e21 brake caliper and disc better stopping power. see pics of 1502 clutch kit cheers, dave
  22. Yes I have dealt with him a lot of times over the years. I always get the parts I needed at a good price. I have not been in touch with him for the last 3 years. I am surprised that he did not ship you the parts you bought from him, he was never liked that with me. Anyway you may want to get a hold of some guys in the 02 club deutschland who know him and they might be able to help you out.
  23. btw you need to use a dbilas side draft manifold too to make sure it clears as the other brands of manifolds are longer.
  24. an m30 tranny will bolt on an m10 block, you may want to look for ones from a 1985 e23/e24/e28 or early e12/e24 from 1978-1981 CR5 speeds, you may or may not have to replace the input shaft. i know the ones from an '85 which is one with the removable bell housing will bolt on to an S14 and m10
  25. Guys, The meet is on Sunday June the 22nd. The '02 guys from the Toronto- NY (Buffalo-Rochester area) club will be there from 11 am to 5pm. Let me know if any of you '02 guys are coming. http://mosport.com/vintage08.htm Putting the "Can" back in Can-Am, the Vintage Racing Association of Canada (VARAC) and Mosport International Raceway have announced that Mosport's 4 kilometre road course will feature the classic Can-Am sports cars during the 29th Annual VARAC International Vintage Racing Festival. The original Canadian American Challenge Cup Series (1966-74) was one of North America's greatest road racing series ever. Mosport hosted more Can-Am races than any other track. It held at least one race every year during the series run (except 1968) and was the scene of many memorable Can-Am battles. These races featured a veritable "who's who" of the biggest names in motorsports history. Drivers from the ranks of sports cars, Formula 1 and NASCAR all competed in Can-Am: Mario Andretti, Jack Brabham, A.J. Foyt, Dan Gurney, Jim Hall, Denny Hulme, Parnelli Jones, Bruce McLaren, Peter Revson, Jody Schecter, Jackie Stewart, John Surtees and the list goes on. In addition, VARAC and Mosport will honour the Fiftieth Anniversary of Lola Cars during this year's Vintage Festival. A Lola from each race group will be selected for a special award based on preparation, history, and paddock presentation. Additionally there will be a Lola parade lap, Lola group photo and a display of the stunning T70 MK2 Spyder Continuation car. With the anticipation of Can-Am thunder again rumbling up the Mario Andretti straight, the VARAC Vintage International Festival promises to be one of the highlights of the 2008 Mosport season. The excitement is not limited to Can-Am- the schedule also includes a 50th Anniversary Austin Healey Sprites race, an MG Feature for the Simms Cup, a German Manufacturer's Challenge Race (featuring historic Porsches, BMWs, Audis and others), plus races for all classes of Vintage and Historic Cars. Large fields (50 cars or more) are anticipated for many of these classes. The classic sports cars of the Can-Am Series headline the 29th International Vintage Racing Festival at Mosport, June 20-22.
