1.what is the easiest way to remove that sound deadening stuff from the floors? 2. i am stripping this car bare to metal, should i paint the doors, trunklid and hood separately or on the shell? tia, dave

the easy way is to remove the camshaft from the head and measure the lobes. i don't know if you can measure the lift and duration of the cam with the cam in the head.

if it is made schrick, they will have duration (on older made cams) scribbled on the front of the cam, i think the newer ones have it stamped.

if you want the corners flush you have to glue it and fill with bondo. you can also have one or two guys press on the airdam against the lower lip then screw them in it should make it flush if you look at even an original alpina car the grey one, they just sit on top where the corners are. see pics below of an original alpina car and one that has been glued and filled in with body filler on the corner

not actually painting but i am in the process of sand blasting the car where it has surface rust and the engine bay, trunk area and plastic media in the good spots. should just use sand for all? also after blasting it what is the best primer to use zinc or etching? cheers, dave

That is a dbilas setup rebadged as a bmp. i can sell it to you guys cheaper than bmp , i am a dbilas dealer.

i just got a tip from an old friend about an original A3/A4 alpina '02. the car is not in north america. my friend is into old italian exotics and he was looking at a lambo 350gt and he called me that he saw in the storage there was an old 02 that the owner said was an original alpina car. so i asked my friend to describe it to me he said it was a silver colored car with the blue green stripes square tail light, had the front spoiler with the stripe running down the lower edge of the spoiler and has two "mobil fhc" stickers on both lower edges, lip flares, trunklid spoiler with a big alpina script in the middle, 13" wheels and that the whole car was weathered and even the deko stripe was faded and runs thru the top just above the top aluminum belt line trim and runs on the outer edges of the hood, it also has the alpina script on both sides of the lower belt molding on the front fender the one between the wheel well and the door. the seats are recaro alpinas interior with the blue green stripes a little ratty, had the alpina gauges, steering wheel, shifter, additional gauges. the body is straight, some rust and will need a complete restoration. he did not had the chance to look under the hood as it was covered with boxes of parts belonging to that car too but he said he will come back to take photos and email it to me. the car has been sitting in storage indoors for more than 20 years. the owner said it has a lot of receipts inside the car but they could not get to it as it was jammed between two other cars. judging from the description it looks almost identical to the 1975/6 german rallye racing magazine i have with the alpina a4 featured in it. so what should be a good price to offer? i will post pics as soon as he emails it to me.

not alpina but i has the nice sportpaket (cr 5spd, limited diff, optional recaro sport seats, sport suspension) )option which is very desirable, the steering wheel should have been the factory 3 spoke though. fyi ti's command more money in europe as they were made in very small numbers compared to tii's

just did a quick inventory tobacco brown interior, trim parts, instrument clusters, etc, door panels, 12 4 speed trannnies and 4 open diffs all for $100 condition unknown, behr ac panel and console complete in good condition best offer, 5 heads condition unknown all for $100, 2 short blocks free, 2 early tii motors with 121 ti heads , 72-73 chrome bumper sets, early tii injection system with plastic runners. will be tomorrow email me. cheers, dave

not 3 cars really but will end up with probably 2. i will part the tii out. i might lighten the load so i am thinking of unloading some parts like heads, motors, body parts, interior parts, chrome bumpers, wheels etc.. i also have some m30 engine parts and some 3.0s and bavaria stuff too. anyone interested email me with your needs and i'll see what i have. i should have an inventory of all the parts by saturday afternoon and maybe hold the sale on sunday. if i do hold the sale better bring $$$$ with you. the cars are located in south jersey close about 30 minutes from atlantic city and 30 minutes from philly, 1 hr from delaware, 2 hrs from nyc. cheers, dave

bill, congratulations for getting cotm for pikachu2. thank you for buying the alpina lip flares and using them. finally another (andy's was first) documented car that used my alpina lip flares. btw I dropped the suspension in the front 40mm and the rears 30mm, i think KW in germany sells the springs. as eibach and h&r drop 30mm front and back. cheers, dave

alfa gtv-4 and gtv-6 from 1977 and up is similar to a tii booster.

need the early type white in color

run as administrator right click on exe file and run as administrator. have not tried it yet but most xp software will run if you install it as administrator on vista if not go to bmw website and see if they have a patch for vista

marcus glarner he is in toronto, he has all the internal parts for it, i believe he has close ratio gear sets too. he is expensive but he knows his stuff.
