Things that I want that make no sense with the build I am going for

+1 - Even more so perhaps for my '73 Tii resto, but they are beautiful. I elected to go with the IE ceramic version, it just arrived and is quite nice. Will be a couple months until I am ready to install, but given the cost and great feedback received on it - made more sense to me cost wise.

That is damned sexy.

Does it come in an S14 flavor? ?

This is what I was thinking.  And reminding myself of Jimmy saying that the s14 stock header is really good as it is.  I just keep telling myself...

Dave.

'76, totally stock. Completely.

Too pretty to hide on the engine's low side!  In fact, too pretty to be in the engine compartment at all.   Should form the base for a glass-topped coffee table in a man-cave.

Were these designed for a specific engine build spec, with the goal of improving performance or changing the exhaust note? Or, are they a bolt-on-to-whatever-M10-you-have sweet-looking stainless steel header? -KB

M10 specific, I'm guessing more race oriented as the run for a while before narrowing from 4 to 2. He recommends "running them free-flowing full 2.25" exhaust, header-back, for best results."

Someone more knowledgeable chime in, but I think that means optimized for higher RPM's, (i.e. racing)

Do I need these on a daily driver car, no. Still want them...

I haven't seen one of these in person, the fab work I will say from the images is impressive.  I am sure they work 'better' than stock, how much better - hard to say.  Few shops that sell performance bits, back it up with data.  What would be interesting would be to take a motor (of whatever flavor you desire, stock, carbs, tii etc.,), put it on an engine dyno and run it with a stock system.  Then run it with the modified system.  Of course then if the results were nominal it makes it tough to sell part, other than 'it looks sweet, but doesn't do jack for performance......'.  I remember years ago, Jere Stahl commented on BMW M10 headers and essentially stated to get any sort of benefit from the header the primaries needed to be 1-5/8" and greater.
