Scammers

I dont think its the FAQs job to screen members and not sure exactly how that could be done without violating what's left of personal privacy.

You have to shift through the garbage to find real folks.

Slow down, you will get there but it takes time to find the right person with the right car.

Basically it’s a fraud, some dude calling from Pennsylvania, claiming to be in Virginia but says the cars in Cali...

And that is why, before you buy any car, you must lay your hands on the car and meet the seller. Or have a reputable and knowledgeable person perform a PPI and act as your agent.

Moderators:

please take this thread down, I can’t  seem to. Thanks

I don't think we have moderators on this site, aside from Steve; who rarely intervenes, except for maybe bumping a thread to the Off-Topic section....

No screening of members.  No banning members.  No deleting threads.

From what I've read, this site was founded, in part, due to an overly 'moderated' alternative 2002 forum; so it has taken a hands-off approach from the beginning.

This was an amusing thread that stemmed from a request to delete it.

There have been several threads recently warning about scammers trying to feed off of the parts wanted section and they have drifted into the back pages.  Be patient and this one will too.

I belong to a few other car forums, some of them require a minimum number of posts before you're allowed to post to classifieds for sale. Perhaps an idea for FAQ.

Maybe, but sometimes a guy just ends up with some of that stuff for that car and is just trying to sell it.  :)  Like, maybe I had a vintage radio that was for (insert car type here.)...  :big kiss emoji:

No, no, ban me first: my favorite word is sh*t! ???

And don’t judge people’s locations by their phone’s Area Code: I kept my (917) NYC cell number through 9 years in Atlanta, and my ‘73 tii, now in storage until its Big Re-Paint, is in Pennsylvania while I’m in NYC... WTF! ?

Steve

It’s obvious, Esty! The photos show a Malaga round taillight with a Black interior. It should have a Saddle or Tobacco interior.... Obviously a scammer! ?

Best regards,

Steve

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
