Heater box grommet (cables)

Check the archives--folks have found the proper sized grommets at their local hardware store or some other source than BMW.  Measure the diameter of the hole where the grommet lives, then visit your hardware store with grommet in hand, and find one.  Another place to look is a shop that specializes in lamps and lamp parts.

I've installed similar "two hole" grommets on the firewalls of  vintage Benzes....but if you go that route, be prepared to pay about $20 for it. The Benz people are very proud of their parts. No idea what the part number is, anymore, but classic / vintage Benz vendors will be able to find it.

I went to Ace Hardware when I rebuilt my heater box. They all had all the heater flap grommets and then some. I just recently junked the bottom half of spare heater box. I bought it because the fan on the top half worked great.   Hopefully you took your heater core to your local radiator shop to pressure test it before you put it back together. Been there, done that and I have to pull my heater box again, the heater valve is stripped so another weekend project is in the works soon. At least I don't have to open up the heater box again...
