Is that jalopy of yours still running?

Hahahaha.... riiiiiight.

What I want to know is, will there be elk backstrap in a cooler in the trunk of that jalopy?

Speaking of jalopy.... are you driving "the project" up this year, Ray?

Room reserved, see y'all there.

Rumor has it that, following a minor road rage scuffle in Mobile, Ray will be raffling off his "slightly aerated" M2 this year :D

Mid America caravan from the Midwest:  depart Dayton OH on Wed morning 26 April, south through Cincinnati, then south on I-75/71 to Louisville.  Meet up with folks coming from IN there.   South on I-65 to Bowling Green KY, then west on the Western KY Parkway then to the Purchase Pky via a short stretch of I-24.  All very scenic with little traffic.  In Tennessee we travel on US 61 to I-155, then cross the Mississippi River to US 412, passing through a little tail of MO.  Stay on 412 to our overnight stop in Paragould AR (great BBQ joint there).  Thursday morning we continue on US 412/62/63 to  Alpena, AR, where US 62 branches off from 412 and takes us to Eureka Springs--projected arrival time 3-4 pm presuming all '02s are running just fine.

If you're interested in joining up at the beginning or somewhere en route, PM me with your e-mail address.  I'll add you to the caravan mailing list, and pass on info on our overnight stop motel.  We had six cars last year and had a great drive.

cheers

mike

There will be lots of reports from folks who attended all the 100/50 Year Anniversary events around the world last year.    Tons of door prizes    Dozens of cool 02s     So much 02 Knowledge in one place that any question you could possible have on 2002s can be answered (and correctly too I might add)    Heck, you can even get Keith to adjust  your Tii fuel system if you wanted,     Or have Jack tell you how to drive an 02    Or have Terry, well Terry can talk about any subject you want because he has done it all.     And Ben, well Ben sets us all straight!!!

Bringing this if I can get it all together in time :)

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
