Both you and Jhc have taken part in the political mudslinging. You got under his skin and now he's taken it to the next level.

Opinions are opinions, we're all being affected by what world leaders do. Some agree and some don't, but there will still be a tomorrow.

You and I agree on many political views much like alot of FAQ'ers and there are plenty that oppose my views. I choose to deal with things in a much more subdued manner. I'll just use my vote and keep my funds out of communities that I don't agree with.

I mentioned this in my earlier post, so please correct me if i'm wrong but this seems to be an example of what spilled over from the political forum? Could someone explain why that was even created? Was it created on behalf of those that chose to make public their political views? I never talk politics or religion with people that i do not know personally or would be open to hearing my views as much as i am open to hearing theirs. Why would you want to go to a BMW forum to talk politics?

JHC is just sitting back right now getting enjoyment from watching this train wreck that they created. I pay no mind to her/his comments since they do not help the topic other than sidetracking it with a cat fight.

Like CJ, i agree that you have to have thick skin if you want to talk about something as controversial as politics with complete strangers. Take it as a lesson learned and keep political opinions to yourself on car forums.

Maybe if everyone cared about what they were posting than people would be better behaved.

I don't think banning will help. Admins cleaning up threads that get out of line would be better.

jesus h christ, this is what he/she wants, this whole thread about jhc and whether or not to ban him/her. jhc is rotfl right now.

I haven't had any personal interactions with jhc but every post I've seen was not needed.

The no ban policy is admirable but my opinion is that there's always exceptions to every rule.

If I had everyone here over to my house and we were out in the garage talking about cars (which is exactly what this forum is) and someone was as abusive and rude as jhc was there, I wouldn't hesitate to ask him/her to leave. If they acted like a dick the next time they came over, same thing, and then no invite for the next time.

Pat, Steve reopened your account because of public outcry over you leaving. You contribute a lot to the forum and nobody wanted to see you leave, myself included.

As far as banning goes, the reason it has never been practiced here is because rampant banning at Roadfly was INSTRUMENTAL in the formation of the 2002FAQ. Self policing is (was, anyway) a CORE feature of this site. I haven't been here since day one...I was in SC at 02-02-02 so I got here on day 3!! But in that time I've seen it all. Trent Tilton telling Dave Hoovler "I'll rape your God!" Elliott off his meds and freakadelic. Stoolpusher running rampant. Carpet wars and the ensuing hilarity with Al Canuck and (my friend) Esty...Who ever dreamed she'd become the carpet queen?!

Anyhow I HATE alias'. I've occasionally used the moniker "Alias Police". No profile = No respect in my book. I also believe members should register to post. But one thing about this current situation is a FACT...Armond, George, and David (RIM) have ALL engaged this "JhC" in the (unnecessary - should be eliminated) political forum. They are "JhC's" three primary targets. It's time for THEM to unmake the mess they helped to make. The fundamental features of the site should NOT be changed to get this poster off their backs.

Okay I think I have one thing to add....you talk about Keith being a great contribution that was lost because of stuff like this. While I don't exactly support the idea of banning people, I wonder what I'm missing out on by not having someone like Keith around (I've only been on the board for almost 3yrs).

Also, why does Jhc always refer to him/herself as "we"?

The problem in the world, well the US, is that there are not enough ass kickings. If people got their ass kicked when needed you would not have this issue as much. I wish you could go to city hall, plead your case. And if justified you should be able to pull a permit to kick someones ass. Of course, bar maming them or causing serious injury. Just a good ass whoopin.

Armond: I agree that some posts are patently offensive and should be deleted in whole or in part. Still, you bring some of these unwanted posts on yourself since every one of your posts contains a political or religious message. Please, don't take this the wrong way but this is a car bulletin board. Why mention anything other than something related to cars?
