    Not a BMW...

Oh you do. I have a fraction of those skills- a very, very small fraction.
  2. Aren't they in the UK? Seems like the default would be to send someone a RHD harness instead of a LHD! That sucks dude.
  3. The hold down is pretty straight forward, can do that with about anything. Lots of marine applications. My car came with the big e30 wiring for the battery from back to front. It's nice. And it's repeatedly suggested that the chassis isn't flexing much back there, so the stress bar is a little superfluous. In theory, according to the hive mind. I've never seen any numbers, but with that big piece of seat back sheet metal right there, I'm inclined to believe it's ok to start.
  4. My '72 doors would close just perfectly all the time. My '76, on the other hand, requires some 'focus' to get the doors to close- new OE gasket on the passenger side, old gasket Jim gave me that didn't work for him on the driver's side. Wife did comment that it was noticeably quieter after the new gasket though, and she said it was easier to close. I'm going to a new OE gasket for the driver's side at some point.
  5. Someone have a kid going to school in Fort Collins and have a fresh Malaga with gold BBS?
  6. Yeah, I'd argue there's a bunch he understands that you should be aware of. And I'm pretty sure he was thinking you were talking about using all of the L-jet/Jetronic to run the car- that's what I thought when I read it. He's familiar enough with the Haltech to be able to get my datalog from the Haltech to upload into the MS software to be able to view it to help me... And I think that if you drill down far enough on most of the modern FI systems, they're all kinda' the same- a couple triggers, some sensors, some data, some spreadsheets, some math- boom, car runs.
  7. Yeah, plugs. And there a couple of places that look correct for the kfish pump. Jim and I were helping dude get his tii started- similar sounding issue. He had used a mark for the timing of the pump, but it wasn't the correct mark. At least I think that's what it was- I've hit my head several times, so, take it for what it's worth.
  8. Alright, I give up. Why does the middle one look so small?
  9. Make sure you pump up the cam chain tensioner by hand- otherwise it'll make a gawd awful rattle on start up. The wheezing? Nope, but I thought my engine was going to explode...
  10. Wait, what? You bought a new M2, not an old 'M2.'
  11. Holy shit dude. I think when we spoke you didn't even have a car yet? That sucks.
  12. Z3 1.9 shifter. I've had them in a couple cars, have one now on the 265 in my car. (Blunt option) Too bad they've gotten so expensive.
  13. Video sounds great. What did you do for the PCB for the charging of the alternator?
  14. So, would that be more fun or less fun?
  15. Dude. Holy shit. Could you imagine?
  16. Love the new T shirts; what's the deal with the models? ? Need Ray or Barn to model some of them. Hell, even better, get them GSD's to model them! Being honest, I like the new shirt designs. I like that some of them are just a bit obscure- so if you know, you know. But if you don't, you don't. I know the Roundel (R) is trademarked, but I'm kinda' happy everything isn't Roundel (R) this and Roundel (R) that. Looks great. Thanks for coming back to the FAQ Steve- when I got here you didn't have much time for a presence, it's nice having you here.
  17. I was thinking about this when I built my new harness for the Haltech ECU, but what I found was at least a couple hundred dollars a side, so in the 4-500 range total. All motorsport stuff, sure, but still a lot of money and a lot of potential to screw up. Smart guy at a conference once said,"Make it useful before you make it complicated." If it was me, I might try getting it to run right before I cut the entire wiring harness in half. Just sayin'.
  18. Uh oh! Here we go! This is one of my favorite parts! Along with the stantz thread. Doesn't this make it a '71?
