  1. I think they sit on locks, just like big lifts- they don't rest on the hydraulics if done correctly. So should be good to sit like that for a while.
  2. Oh shit! Was that your car on the flatbed on Harmony?! And I've got a bunch of those parts, whatever they are, if you want them.
  3. Pat! When are you just going to make drive shafts for us?!
  4. Fuck. Moose are so big! Had one trot up the river behind the house a couple weeks ago. Huge. I've known some people on moto that avoid riding at night... And the stock headlights on the car, and the size of the car, I think, do make it a little sketchy in the evening. So I, too, kinda pretend I'm on a moto while driving the car- If you can see them, or they can see you, they're out to get you.
  5. Taking mine this morning for an early workout with the boys HS tennis team- that about my speed mentally, so it's a good fit. I think some of the changes that get made are based on DD status- for example, it's dark and I'm driving, so LED bulbs with even better lights waiting to go in. All the things like that that driving in regular traffic encourages one to make it work better...
  6. I drive my car most days, shy of snow, salt on the road, or really big rain- got a Taco for that. Curious how all y'all use your cars.
  7. Could be he did it to sell it, could be he saw Jim's s14, my s14, and decided he needed a damned s14...
  8. If someone wanted give me retarded money for my car? Maybe. But I've hit my head several times, really hard. I seldom like people coming up to me to talk about my car- actually took the long way through the parking lot an hour ago to not have to talk to a guy that was looking at my car... (I might build a rally Miata anyway, just sayin'. They're so absolutely silly)
  9. No Ray, I didn't. Just thinking about John's 2.7 crank. They had this one, too... I mean, unreal numbers, but some cool cars.
  10. I can imagine that conversation... "No. Look at the drawing."
  11. That place at Sears Point / Sonoma / whatever they call it now- I think they have the big ass machine to do the Bilsteins.
  12. Finally went and looked. Why are there no pictures from under the car? Is that a 120 km/h speedo? Stock suspension, stock brakes? It's still got the AFM, so if it bored it's still running the stock ECU, as no one in their right mind would use the AFM unless they had to, so does it run correctly? Why did they write so few words about it? What was done to the engine? New clutch? What flywheel? 265? Tunnel chop? LSD? Those wheels are like 30 pounds each, with no tires... Bet it rolls smooth, so much flywheel effect. It's still got the stock tamper caps where you adjust the ITB's to balance them, so that hasn't been done- so, it probably can get better than it is.
  13. Bore but no stroke? But John's 2.7 crank?! He said he's making over 300 at the tires or something? 350?
  14. Holy god, it's the V10. 'Missing several of the original internal parts...'
  15. I've been thinking about the MaxJax- and it seems that since it got sold to BendPak it got some improvements. Periodically on sale through Home Depot... But now I just jack my car up all the way on one side, then do the other. No more front subframe for me- just easier / quicker this way. It's how I've started doing the wife's Subaru as well. Used to be jack on the side, 4x6 under the front tire, down, move to subframe from the front, up, front jack stands, then mess around with the rear.
  16. Yeah, my wife's first experience with guns was her old man giving her a 12 or 10 gauge shotgun when she was really young. Mind you, she only weighs, maybe 110, 115 now. He didn't help her at all, and laughed himself silly when it literally knocked her on her ass. It took a bit to get her over that. Fucking dickhead. But now she prefers CZ pistols, the steel ones. (Now if only I could find a reliable source for primers...)
  17. I have to admit that while I was in the Army, I had a Taurus .454 Casull revolver. Looking now, apparently you can use it for hunting buffalo. Anyways. My buddy wanted to shoot it. So I load it up with .45 long colt, because it fits, and shoot it one handed, all 5 rounds. Barely recoils at all, because .45 Colt is a freakin' kitten load. Then I load it up with proper .454 rounds for my friend, and tell him to use 2 hands and not drop my damned gun. Didn't realize it until thinking about it now, but I must have looked total legend at that point. I used to be so cool. :laughing my head off emoji
  18. Hey. If you're going to an aftermarket ECU, ditch the AFM before you even start- go with a MAF.
  19. Speaking for myself, it helps to be a little autistic.
  20. Just wanted you to read that part twice. My experience might not be everyone's, but it was pretty straight-forward once I got started. So I'd say clean the block and get started.
  21. And really, too bad we can't get GR Yaris. Full retard that one.
  22. I'll be the voice from the outer world (because saw the new one for the third time last night.) Send it. 2002's are commanding retarded prices, yours runs great. My wife is rolling a '14 STI with Ohlins. It's very capable and very silly. I drive my '02 constantly, but it looks like a nail- I think people are more afraid of me encroaching on their space... So you lose all the stress of worrying about your car because if someone smashes into it, you just get a new one. And what's the worst? You hate it and buy another 2002? You know someone on here would help find you a good deal, you dump a bunch more labor into it, and you're back at a 2002. For reference, the s14 made 190 something? My car is about 2500 lbs. I'm at 5,000' elevation. It's quick, it's fun, at sea level it would be fast enough to have to pay attention. If you're not driving the 2002, what's the point? If I didn't drive mine all the time, I'd be looking into a clown shoe. But then again, like the prices of our cars, I'm a bit retarded.
