AC Schnitzer Box Fenders - Front and Rear

Recommended Posts

Price: $450
Location: San Juan Capistrano

Description:

Another really cool set of box flares from Rey's personal stash.

This kit includes all four corners needed for a proper widebody kit. These are the bolt-on version which bolts directly to the fenders and rear quarter panels. If your fenders and quarter panels are rusty, these are a great alternative.

See the photos to understand what is included.

Come get them! Local pick up is strongly preferred.

These sold right?

I asked the same question a couple of weeks ago...  I just pung Nate at Sports Car Restoration (?) about making molds and reproducing the Zender full kit they have sitting there- that's about what I'm looking for.  You, me, @Fletcher?  How many would we need?

I have all the molds here for both the full alpina set up and the ACS set up.

I'd prefer to sell the molds, or have someone just make a few sets for us elite boys.

Molds are big and heavy, but just reconditioned and blessed.

I was sad that it didn't look like these were still available, but check these out.

I'm still at step 0, looking for a 2002, but I'm now less worried about the condition of the fenders!

Thank you for your Reply John.

Unfortunately, the Kit sold by I.E is a GS-Tuning replica that is fairly different than the Schnitzer one.

I have found the correct Schnitzer kit at Thomas SCHMIDT (Kunststofftechnik Schmidt, Roggenwinkel 22-24, 59071, GERMANY), complete for 1595€ (4 complete wings, front deep spoiler + other little fixing material.

The thing is that those kits are no more FIA homologated, so I finally have to go another route to get an FIA HTP, wich is my goal.

A pity, because this means that a genuine historic 2002 with the Schnitzer box fenders could no more have a FIA passport.

Seems strange to my ears, but that's what the FIA technical advisor answered me.

I might have to ask another one...

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
