  1. Mehpowered:Just let me know your PayPal. You have my email Good luck on your hunt Dennis!
  2. I'll stand aside while the seller responds. I want to be fair
  3. Gobi. Esty, you learn something new every day! I think the darker brown(saddle) would look great with Inka
  4. Can you get me a PayPal to send to? My email: Mikek@supcf.com Shipping to 10306
  5. (nt)Here's a couple of saddle/Inka shots.
  6. (nt) You can fit this Ireland Wilwood BBK rear vented kit on the car with these Alpina style wheels from Mark Preisendorf. They are 6x15 ET29, the right offset for the 02 and they fit over these brakes. You can also opt for 7x15 BBS RS wheels with these brakes as well. These BBS wheels are ET25 and are running with 10mm spacers to clear front struts. Still fits within stock rolled fender. Why do you need drum in hat style emergency brakes? These work fine with the stock cables with a small spacer sleeve. If you're going for Wilwoods why get concerned about using BMW style stuff like drum in hat E-brakes?
  7. Will give you $90 for the manifold plus shipping.
  8. Yep, I had a 002 rebuilt / recurved to 008 specs. But regardless an old worn out distributor will rob the car of power, smoothness, cold start performance, driveability etc. It was night and day difference once I had the distributor rebuilt. I fought adjustments in my tii for a long time, and 99% of it was timing. Even for carb'd cars it would make a huge difference. If you can't time it by a timing light because the ball "jumps" around too much that is usually a good indication that the advance springs are worn out. What did you tell them? just recurve it to 008 specs? or did you need to provide the exact specs? I take it they have done this before and will know just by my telling them that. Please let me know. I have an 002 vacuum advance distributor I would like to send them. I have a pertronix ingnitor in it now that I will remove before sending.
  9. I don't want to hijack Paul's thread but.... Has anyone modified their advance curve on a stock car (maybe with a 2 barrel Weber)and seen some benefit? If so can you share your setup with us? The rebuild for $100 seems like a great idea from the comments I see about AD. Especially if you can eke out a few more HP in the process.
  10. Happy anniversary to you and your cars Jim. Keep em running, or shall I say flying for another 40 or 50 years (maybe not you but your heirs!)
  11. Mark's radiator is $450 minus a core charge of $75. Copper cored with new cap. I just bought one for my new Inka car. I like the Brass tanks and copper core. Looks better in the car. According to Mark it's got better thermal capacity then the somewhat larger fancy aluminum radiators that are out there. I have not tested this myself. I happen to own both but have not run them yet. I will be running Mark's this week.
  12. That is a cool combo. Looks like Verona and Bristol for lower part and roof. Very clean with nice plain steel wheels. Would look good with a nice Blue instead of the Red in the two tone. But Red does look nice. Maybe even Inka!
  13. Very few cars can make you feel as good about driving it as this one. People really sit up and take notice of you around these parts because there are none around anymore. Unique in a world of worn down bars of soap. That what most modern cars styling looks like to me. Don't even talk about E46's in the same breath. They are a complex animal and parts can be painfully expensive. Have you priced a replacement Zenon headlight for an E46 lately? Or all the little linkages and electronic parts that make sure it stays level? Or a climate control circuit board? I like my vents controlled by cables the old fashioned way so when something breaks I can replace it or oil it and make it better. Forget that with new BMW's. My feeling is you don't want to own any new BMW. Lease maybe I think this car makes a statement about the owner too. You are intelligent, have impeccable taste in automobiles, you don't need to impress anyone with outright speed and the latest noveau style. You don't need to hide behind tinted windows and you are the type of rapidly disappearing individual who can fix things. Did I mention that police stop you just to say hello?
  14. Wish I could have seen this car in person. Interior looks magnificent!
  15. (nt)Here is a head gasket I just replaced. I don't know how that shit would have fixed this. You had three things mingling here... oil, water, and combustion gases blowing into both passages. Piston was steam cleaned in No 1 cylinder. Lucky no other damage occurred.
  16. I meant Theodore Roosevelt but that's a nice picture.
  17. Between the smaller 1600cc displacement and stock compression that I'm assuming you have, a 292 cam is probably the most radical you would want to go with and I would say the 40DCOE's would be more then enough. Have you considered a 38/38 Weber 2 barrel? It probably would be better for the street as far as low end punch. Also easier for you to get set up properly if you don't want to put the time into the dual set up. DCOE's definitely have a steeper learning curve. How much do you like to read and tinker?
  18. A 911 is more of a male enhancement device for a lot of the guys that buy them. 2002 owners don't need no stinkin' enhancements. Nor do we need "chick" magnets. We 02 owners are a lot like TR. We speak softly and carry a big stick.
  19. (nt) I used what is known as "Kindorf". It is a bracket used in mounting electrical or plumbing piping to walls. I used a smaller gauge of it. It is rigid, drilled with holes and plated so it won't rust Just cut piece to the right length and you can use the stock radiator mounting bolts and stock clips to hold it in. Just slide the radiator bolt clip over the end of the bracket. You can use the little plastic bracket that came with the fan to bolt to with your brackets. Use Nylok nuts on the fan side so nothing comes loose. I used an Ireland custom radiator with this installation so I used holes that were further out then stock so don't go by my picture if you're using a stock radiator. The brackets will be shorter. You can see the stock mounting holes in the picture are not being used.
  20. Paul, This is really cool. You are lucky to have gotten something like this as a gift. I think the rat holding the guitar is good. A mandolin wouldn't have looked quite right.
  21. Use the 3m strip caulk. Don't be cheap. Make a nice snake out of two pieces and make your seam at the bottom of the box. Paint the box with POR15 and their paint, Chassis Black. Also you may want to make a cover for the bottom and seal that with strip caulk as well. Two self drilling screws are what I used to fasten it. Do not put back that sponge rubber cover on the outside. It's a rust magnet. Your done
  22. One more, http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,0/page,viewtopic/t,352783/ Best I can do.. Ray great picture. Besides giving us another angle from which to view, the look on the guys faces in the background is priceless. Cars are nice too.
