couple things to consider here. first off, i would get the new style valve guides. however, then you gotta get the new style valve stem seals. the old style seals are crap, and will not last long. with that in mind, i always recommend getting the e30 318i head set, because it will come with the much nicer 1 pc exh manifold gasket with heat shield.

the only thing missing will be the carb base gasket, but if you remove the intake with the carb still attached, no problemo. it will also have the new style valve stem seals in it. pn 11 12 1 734 142 for the head set. there are no more full engine gasket sets available, there might be some very old stock on full sets, but they will have the old style valve stem seals. this head gasket set would sell for about 82.00 here in the us.
the lower end set, 11 11 1 734 114, should have the new design rear crank seal in it(11 14 2 249 533). this seal has no tension spring in it, and relocates the seal lip to a different part of the crank, not the worn part. it is an improvement over the old(1 706 785) seal. with it riding on a new surface, you should not have any rear main seal leaks for a very long time.
another consideration is freight. we have started using the us postal service for a lot of the overseas shipping, if the package meets size requirements, we find that freight cost is easily half that of ups. there are different customs requirements, so be prepared.
lastly, dont forget to attach the front upper timing cover to the head when you get it cut
