  1. 51 71 1 801 810. available in the us of a
  2. Do you know what the order number for them is? I've ordered the correct clips but if the fit is loose and flimsy i'll order the old clips i referenced from you guys. the problem is you cannot get the old clips any more. what happens is bmw quits producing them, the original vendor throws away the tools and molds. then, when mobile traditions was established, bmw started reproducing some of the long since nla parts. so they have to get new vendors, make new tools, yada, yada. and some of the attention to detail is just not there. one of our jobs here is to send feedback to mobile traditions. since i have been reprimanded before about what i post(if yale rachlin was still alive, and saw this, he would be cracking up), i will leave it there.
  3. yes, i have seen them. all i can say is that wherever you do get the clips from, there is only 1 supplier. dont shoot the messenger
  4. #19 is what you need: http://www.bmwmobiletradition-online.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=2583&mospid=47141&btnr=51_3379&hg=51&fg=20 HOWEVER, they are a tad small. we have complained to bmw forever. make sure you have t bolts in really good condition, and if you can reuse the old clips, at least a few, that helps. but them suckers are loose
  5. years ago, i was given a suspension setup from a wrecked tii. the front struts were the alpina blue dots, basically tii turbo struts with hubs, vented rotors, calipers, and bilstein innards. the rears were upside down bilsteins. i sent the bilsteins in to be rebuilt, and to get the jounce and rebound specs. i have always felt that the bilstein hd rears are way too bouncy, and the sports are way too hard. the alpina's were almost dead on in between, and they worked great. somewhere bilstein has the specs on the ones i sent in, but this was a long time ago.
  6. the e30 318i head set will have the later style valve stem seals, but since you are not doing valve guides, that is moot. it will not have carb base gasket, but if you pull the intake without separating the carb, moot. it will not have the fuel pump base gasket. it will have the much nicer exh gasket with heat shield, and i prefer to sell this headset because of this. head gasket is same. there is no german piston made in the +.030, which would equal about +.75mm. there are a few pistons still available for the early cars that are +1.0mm(about +.040). so if the bore is a true +.030, then the pistons are aftermarket, maybe forged.
  7. you are correct on the bore size. it is second oversize, or +.5mm. if the pistons are mahle, there will be some numbers and letters cast on the inside of the piston that should identify exactly what piston it is. however, the new importers for mahle are what we here in texas say are "a couple bricks short of a full load". they basically dont know anything, and they will have to ask mahle
  8. i think this is the car he bought in wichita. if you go back you will see an add in the roundel, csl, light damage to the right rear quarter panel. car was in san francisco, but got repo'd by a bank in wichita. no one would bid on it, and the bank was getting desparate.
  9. i think that comes together with the accumulator. here is a better pic http://www.bmwmobiletradition-online.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=3985&mospid=47164&btnr=16_0158&hg=16&fg=15&hl=9

  11. correct, but only to original owner. and if you send them to bilstein to be rebuilt, then you become the new owner. you may have to provide proof of purchase. that being said, where i used to work, we would warranty bilsteins, but it was always thru a shop, because we only sold wholesale. i think bilstein has the best customer service and warranty in the industry. and for the thousands that we sold, only a few ever were returned for warranty replacement. i think they even replaced a couple that had bent shafts, just for good will.
  12. well, if you wanna walk the walk...... http://www.boostjunky.com/qm.html
  13. the only thing good about that weber carb is that it fits. the rest is all sucky. even a solex with sloppy throttle plate and leaking gas all over runs better
  14. that is part of the panel. so not available genuine, unless you get the whole panel.
  15. here is your problem. see #12? that is for the 73 and before. it is nla. #14 is longer, and is the only one available now http://www.bmwmobiletradition-online.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=2581&mospid=47131&btnr=51_3335&hg=51&fg=25
  16. #1 are the euros. http://www.bmwmobiletradition-online.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=2581&mospid=47131&btnr=63_0491&hg=63&fg=10 if you do decide to get them, make sure you check availability first. these get back ordered in separate sides. like the left will be out for a long time, then the right, yada, yada.
  17. i think they grow up to be this: http://www.camelspiders.net/
  18. years ago, when i worked for dallas european, one of my customers restored a 71 automatic. one of the members of a mega rich family owned a 71 auto when was going to smu law school, back in the 70's. lotsa years later, he decided he wanted that car back. not just any 2002A, he wanted the one he used to own. so they traced the car to san francisco, went out and bought the car, and trailered it back to ft worth. stripped down to the bare metal, the bodywork alone cost 35k. the behr a/c cost 7k, and somehow he had been able to get several parts that were nla. every part was genuine, pistons, cam, etc. the shop owner had some very unique ties with bmwag, he had worked there for quite a while before immigrating to the us. also had some VERY strong ties with bmwna. the car was rebuilt completely stock. i remember when i went to see it, he had the "brand new" front struts sitting on newspaper out in the parking lot, they had just been spray painted black. total cost? 80 grand. the family owned at that time, 9 bmw's. 2 were e32 750's that had been stretched 2 ft.

  20. yup. oil pressure. that was it. backwards is just easier for me to remember
  21. i seem to remember that the ix oil pump does run backwards as compared to the other m20's. try contact jenny morgan, she had a website with an isetta rebuild, and she knows the E30 ix really well.
  22. http://www.bmwmobiletradition-online.com/bmw/?cookieID=44c400ac55b480a90d8d886fb861a757 put the part number in the box on the upper right, and it will take you to the part. even tho it dont list it for a 2002, the 984 is the correct part
  23. yup. blinker relay. long since superseded. now is 61 31 1 364 984
