  1. Yes it is too difficult. And yes I read the tutorials and even commented on them. I clearly uploaded to an album so I know how. It is just a really cumbersome process for a site that is otherwise so attractive, capable and useful. 2002FAQ has decided not to take direct uploads for either space or safety reasons. That is ok but you can't link photos from the most convenient places like Dropbox or Google Photos because the filenames don't have the right extension. To upload individual pictures you must upload to an album and then get a link for each picture and then click the little photo icon and paste the link FOR EACH FRICKIN PICTURE. If you are trying to post 5 pictures about a car mod that is really finicky and time consuming. I get that this is a labor of love and I am sure Steve spends tons of time and money keeping it clean. I would be willing to donate more money to buy a 3 TByte HDD for the server so we can upload directly. Or just find a way to let us link directly to Google Photos where my cellphone automatically uploads everything. Sorry for the OT rant.
  2. I just replaced my center grill. It was around $240. I think it would have been cheaper to actually buy a kidney! That woman is a selfish miscreant. I have nothing but nice things to say about Hagerty. I have 4 cars with them and they are great to deal with.
  3. When I started using the new forum, I found the search function counter-intuitive. One tip: the search works at the level of your current navigation into the site. So if you are on the main page and want to find a forum post containing about oil pressure gauges make sure you select Forums for the search area. Otherwise you will get junk.
  4. I've had this same issue. It appears when attempting to post a linked picture that does not end in .jpg or other supported image filename extension. My Android phone posts all pictures to Google photos so that would be a great way to post them to the FAQ. Unfortunately Google Drive and Photos assign a random file name that does not have the proper file extension. The FAQ no likey. Is there a way to relax that requirement? Here is an example of the type of link that Google photos assigns: https://goo.gl/photos/EpV5iM4UjF1YPLLV6 When pasting it into the image posting form you get the error message: "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community."

  8. It sure is difficult to post pictures on this site. You can't easily upload them or even just drag and drop. Here are the photos from the Behr AC console. First pictures were taken square. Measurements reflect the actual size of item being measured even if it looks like the measurement is not aligned. direct links to images (might work) https://www.dropbox.com/s/pxj1ddityzc9wbc/IMG_0001.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/fsst00gnop9zfi4/IMG_0002.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/p62p80fwbki4z4o/IMG_0003.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/u9tadmx6dbaltba/IMG_0004.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/mpxoujdjfjx6w1m/IMG_0005.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/x1aixhyne4rwito/IMG_0006.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/yyxxupczkfrng5q/IMG_0007.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/wq46sfck3jd6xk4/IMG_0008.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/yjjxjysv9bvkll3/IMG_0009.jpg 2002faq gallery
  9. 5 speed stencil is my vote. I would also like the air conditioning lettering. I will post Behr images.
  10. I always considered a deal a deal. If I ask $100 for something and someone commits to buy, the item is theirs unless they don't pay up in a reasonable time period. If someone offers more before the first buyer has taken possession, here is a fair way to handle it. Contact the first buyer and tell them, X offered me $150 for the item. I can sell it to him for $150 and send you $25 or you can have it for $100.
  11. Got mine as a gift from BMW in 2002 for using my picture in the poster. I love it. I use it every day to slowly wear the paint off my lower steering column cover!
  12. I regularly drive my car at 80+ mph and find even 5th gear a bit buzzy with my 3.91 as it nears 4000 RPM. I wasn't aware of a 3.64 but that sounds like a good compromise between 3.45 and 3.91. I'm going to look into it. With the 3.91, I regularly use 5th gear around town. I would be fine with using 1-4 for normal driving and 5th on the highway. I think that might have been the original intent of overdrive.
  13. I occasionally get a short high-pitched squeak when I turn the steering wheel. It sounds like it is inside the car somewhere in the column. The steering is smooth and accurate with no slop. I don't think the noise is coming from the steering box, steering arm, or upper strut mount. What is the best way to lubricate the steering column?
  14. SIenabraun looks much better in fresh paint, especially in the sunshine. It has a sparkly cinnamon vibe to it -- rootbeer was a good description. That said, it is still brown and will not turn heads when parked among its brethren with brighter plumage. And for some reason, the big bumpers look even bigger on Siena, don't ask me why. I had the same struggle with my Pastellblau. When I got the car it was dull as Lake Michigan on a January day. I thought about painting it another color but couldn't pick one so I went with the 'blau. With a shiny coat of paint and new shiny trim, she sparkles. Ultimately, it's up to you. If you want to strut, change the color. Just don't create another Inka, the Brittney of 2002s. If you are a bit low key, want to be true to the car, and only care if you please yourself, a shiny Sienabraun might be just your color.
  15. I tried the sticker. It was great having 5 gears but those white edges were a constant reminder that it was only an illusion. I colored the edges black in a vain attempt to fool myself but deep down I knew the truth, it was only a decal. Finally, I could take the deception no longer. I removed the sticker, forswore the overdrive, returned to only 4 gears. Now I know what my engine is screaming at 80mph - TRANSFER, TRANSFER, TRANSFER!! Please do this. I assume you can make them overlay the existing printing? A stencil with appropriate white ink would also be the bees knees.
