  1. U know the weight of each wheel?
  2. There are a few things. Do u have e21 hubs? If so you need either a big enough non hubcentric spacer to clear the hub or you need to have the center bore enlarged to fit the bmw hub. Yes you need longer studs for the spacers. Any of the longer studs from Ireland will work. Don’t go too long though or the center caps won’t fit. I went with the 57mm in the fronts and 70mm in the rear. In hind sight I’d go with 65mm in the rear as the rear cap almost didn’t fit. As for spacer you would need at least a 15mm spacer. That gives you roughly the same Offset as the e30 14” BBS RZ. In my opinion you need to figure it out based on your suspension and your taste. For the fronts it can be anywhere from 15mm to 25mm. Depends on your ride height, camber, tires and the look you want. On the rear you can go 15-30mm. Again. It varies based on your car, suspension, tires and the look you want. What I did was have the tires I wanted on it mounted then grabbed a bunch of washers. Put them on the studs until I got the fitment where I wanted them I measured the washers used and got spacers in that size.
  3. From what I understand is they weld up the existing mounting holes and redrill them so they mount more inward. I'm going to get a set and send the to Ireland Engineering for modification. PM AceAndrew, he used to work at Ireland and now does his own thing. He is very familiar with the process.
  4. If you don't do it...the pads wear funny and you build a ridge on the pads and in my case warped the rotors...Now I feel the vibration under braking. There is a reason they do it...lol..its not just for looks. Now I am going to replace my rotors and calipers with ones that had the holes relocated.
  5. Perfect. This just made my decision to get the euro rear bumper with the license plate lights in them. In fact the new rear bumper is cheaper than just those light covers!

We definitely need to hang out more....
  7. Yup. Better grounds make the electrical system work better.
  8. $1k? Triple that. Haltech System with ITBs are $2k for parts. Not including labor or tuning....If you have a bone stock motor, you need to go with high compression pistons, cam, exhaust...Thats probably about $2k minimum, but more like $4k for motor work, and $3k for the EFI system..that will get you to 150-160hp... Power isn't cheap... The beauty of EFi is the tunability and power delivery. It also can start you down the Turbo path....
  9. Pertronix Flamethrower coil is also a good match for your setup...some say hotter spark...I have one...didnt notice much but the car runs excellent.
  10. All that for 10hp?! Lol. And that was wit ITBs and Halltech EFI on a high compression motor. And yes that was 131 at the wheels so probably around 160 at the crank. I guess that’s about the max a 2 liter 8 valve normally aspirated engine is gonna give you on the street. So 140s with the Weber siderdrafts and 150s with ITBs and EFI. Interesting.
  11. Thanks Weg, i was going to chime in here because I would not be installing a Tii injection system in a car. I’d go EFI. There is so much work involved in the Tii system and then you decide to put a cam in it, it throws the system out of wack. It doesn’t respond well to engine mods. While you can get 130hp out of the engine you are really stuck there for the most part. On a carb’d system you can go bigger Pistons, cam, carbs (32/36, 38/38 or dual dcoe 40s and 45s), Exhaust and you can reliably get 150 hp out of it. Oh and Weg you forgot the Tii brake booster lol. Oh and how much is it to rebuild the Tii Kugelfischer? And no you can’t do it yourself, need special tools and only a few people in the US do it. If you want fuel injection the e30 M10 fuel injection with the 325i throttle body is a much better system that can be had pretty cheap and bolt right on. You still need a controller like a megasquirt but there are plenty out there that run it and it can be tweaked for ITBs and all mods.
  12. Ask Le Tran of 2002 Garagewerks...he has done several...Also PLENTY of info here on how to do it, especially since there are a few different ways to do it. So are you going fully stock? Pre 73 front bumper? 73? You do know there is a difference in brackets. Also there are several options for the rear. There are special brackets you can buy to use small bumpers on the big upper mounts or you can get the original bumper brackets, cut the valance and weld in a pre 74 front valance and use the factory bumper mount locations....so you may want to explore which direction you want to go. Any competent body shop can do any of them and I actually did my conversion myself as a lot of people have done.
  13. If he is using that most relays have a diode built in. No need for an external one. Just check thatvthe relay you are using has a diode in place. All the ones I have seen have that diode. I have never had a switch fail and I don’t have an external diode.
  14. What temp fan switch did he install?? If he installed on that turns on too low the fan will come on and never turn off. I had to play with temp switches to get the right temp so the fan comes on and goes off at the correct temps. Is the fan turning on immediately or only after it gets warm and stays on? Fuel senders are hard to come by. Just FYI there was a thread asking what are options because the stock units are NLA. So I would check with him and ask him where he got it and at what cost. They were getting up there in price. Maybe he couldn’t get a new one so he sourced a clean used one. Ask.
  15. Thabks for that info! The sheet metal behind it is not what I was expecting. Good to know that’s there. Just thinking about my next build. So not something I’m doing right now.
  16. Except wouldn’t that make the E30 an E20 since it has the M20 engine not the M30 engine? Lol
  17. I’m looking for pics of them installed directly in the dash like the Tii clock.
  18. Well this is the idea. Lol. Maybe overkill. I was thinking 3 additional gauges, not 7. Would love to see more if they are out there.
  19. I was just thinking has anyone done additional gauges actually in the dash instead of a gauge pod? Imagine like the Tii clock but 3 gauges maybe pointed towards the driver? Would there be enough room behind for the gauges and wiring? Anyone ever done it? I think it would like ok pretty good. The issue, cutting up a good dash to try. Lol. Just Dashes does a lot of that stuff while refinishing dashes and it looks stock. Wondering if it’s been done before.
  20. That’s because it was designed as the poor mans 2002. Literally. Front engine. Rear wheel drive. Independent rear suspension. 4 cylinder. 1600-2000cc motors.
  21. Very happy with my 2 stage Fjord. This is after 2 years.
  22. Funny. I have daily driven like 5 in that list ( Datsun, Volvo, Saab, Porsche and 2002). Lol. Have to admit the 2002 is the most fun. I guess I have had good taste in daily drivers.
