  1. I have been trying to get a grip on what my 74 (white, big bumper, Zender box flares and spoiler, 15"Alpinas, big M stripe) would look like with a euro rear and no front bumpers. Can an image of this be done with one of the software packages? Would appreciate help. Happy to send you a file of pics to play with. I have seen a couple of examples I liked but none with the same flares. Thanks, Tim
  2. Antracite is your color. If unavailable, take a look at BMW Graphite. I was happy to find it was still available when I had paint work done to my Alpina B9 a couple of months ago. There is touchup paint available as well.
  3. Harry, I am with you on Bo's car. One of my favorites. I think your car looks terrific as is. I am getting ready to do the small bumper conversion on the reat of my white car. Going with no bumper up front. Best, Tim
  4. I just got my new copy of Bimmer today. In the article on BimmerFest, there was a pic of an Alpina touring. What a beautiful piece. Kudos to whoever owns it. Would love to see more detailed photos.
  5. I met Ed a few years ago. If he has a touring, I'm sure it is in excellent shape. He has one of the best unrestored turbos I have every seen.
  6. Bill, Even though I have seen many of the pics individually, seeing them in sequence is quite exciting. Can't wait to see the completed project. Will be there for sure when it's first out of the wrapper. The color is perfect! Tim
  7. I am glad I got to see those seats last weekend. They look terrific. The red car with the gray seat fabric and the black door panels, dash, etc. is stunning and is far superior to a std. black color scheme IMHO.
  8. 1983 Baur-top 323i (the only Inka one produced, stolen from the Norfolk Va. airport and reported in Brazil summer 1991); Porsche 356SC coupe (my Dad's); Ruf CTR (wish I had never sold it). Runner ups: 71 Black Alpina prepped ti (still in Georgia someplace, also wish I hadn't sold it), E39 Dinan S2 M5 (would still be driving it it it hadn't burned to the ground), Evo 3 spec E30 M3 (now living in Dallas).
  9. Bill, Outstanding pics. Nathan was excellent company. Thanks to Scott and company and to Mike and Eileen for being great hosts on Friday. This is my favorite event of the yr. Tim
  10. *pan to view of Harry banging his head against the wall* *cut to next scene : Harry frantically checks price of round trip tickets from Atlanta to Norfolk* *Harry bangs head against the wall again when he sees the price of said tickets* Oh, man........you're tempting me... Lessee : take a 8-10 hr drive to VA to pick up that car, drive it down to the event, drive it back to VA and then drive the 8-10 hrs back to Atlanta. Hmmmm..... do they sell Vivarin in bulk packages? Oh, well...Maybe next year. See you there! Harry, Not to worry. You can give whichever car I drive a bit of exercise. Best, Tim
  11. Harry, We will have to tip a few on Sat. night. I am not doing the drive on Sunday and will be heading home to Va. Yes on the other thing. That's the 02 I was going to loan you. Tim
  12. Harry, So glad you are coming. What are your plans? I am planning on driving the 83 Alpina B9 (waiting for a part, but should be there by then). If not, I will be driving the Agave M2. If you can get to the Norfolk Va. area, I will loan you an 02. (only 4hrs ago from the Vineyard). Bill Williams has organised a caravan down on Friday afternoon. Best, Tim
  13. Harry, As you know I had those wheels on an E21 323i. I loved those wheels. Glad you are enjoying them. Best, Tim
  14. Andy, Let's take a look at V@V. If it's actually an Alpina header (stamped somewhere) and is 2.5", I would be interested. We'll give the rest a looksee as well. Best, Tim Jones
  15. Man, I am sorry I missed that. I planned to drive from Tampa but my carbs are still being rebuilt. Look forward to V@V (driving the Alpina B9). Can someone bring the Tshirts I ordered to V@V. Hope I can make it next year. Tim Jones
  16. If my car is out of the shop (twin 40's being rebuilt) on time, I am leaving Tampa on early Thursday which should get me the 1231 mis by Friday pm. in time for beer. Sounds nuts but you guys did it for V@V last yr. so I am going to give it a try.
  17. Thanks. I assue there is no issue with registering a PR car in the US. Tim J.
  18. Have you ever seen the Inka CSL in PR that is on Ebay? Looks awesome.
  19. Look at the Leatherique product. I assume they have a website. their phone is 1-877-395-3366. I know they make dye in a number of shades. I have not tried it but their other leather products are easily the best I have ever used.
  20. No offense met but 15x7's are available new and are not rare. Now if you come across some 15x6's that's another story.
  21. Thanks, As well as my notes, the conversation was recorded (with their knowledge).
  22. My Hagerty policies (Alpina B9, E30 M3, 74 02) have always had that language. I had very specific discussions with them concerning this, and still have my notes. Driving schools are not an issue. Parade laps at racetracks are OK, Autox is considered racing and street rallys(incl time/distance) are open to interpretation.
  23. Andy, Look forward to seeing you/the turbo at V@V. If you let me drive it , I'll let you drive the Alpina. Best, Tim Jones
