    They work great if set up correctly. I have a set on my 74. It has a 292 cam, Alpina valves and pistons and some moderate porting and polishing. The important thing is that they have to be jetted to match the cam. The most accurate guide I know of is the old Korman jet chart. Mine run grat for everyday use and the car consistantly gets >22mpg.

    My interest is not in insuring the 02 (I use Haggerty), but in the carrier you use for your regular cars. After my Dinan S2 M5 caught on fire, State Farm and I are parting ways. Your experiences are appreciated. Tim

    That must be some 02 racer or your M3 is not well sorted. I've been driving 02's since 73, currently have a moderately modified 02 (stg2 engine - dual 40's, 292 cam, Alpina vaves and pistons; 390 lsd, 5spd, flares, 15's, turbo brakes, upgraded suspension, etc.) and a moderately modified 90 M3 (Korman 225hp pkg, Korman roadsport suspension). Both have seen some track and autox time. I can tell you that there is no road or track where the M3 is not superior. Neither is a race car. I'm sure that there are 02 racers out there that can trounce a stock M3. I doubt that in any stock to stock or modded to modded comparison that an 02 would measure up. Just my opinion.

    I have had a couple of E28's and I love them. They are getting expensive to repair. I would check out the site above and ask some questions. The folks there are helpful (much like here). Good luck.

    I used to run the same wheel on a TR-250. Beautiful wheels. I broke at least one (I think because they are so light).
