i've bought a black turbo few days ago, it was ordered by BMW dealer in black, I don't know if it was painted in BMW factory or by dealer...

There should be a plate next to the VIN with the color listed. Take lots of pics!

Cheers,

there's not color plate...vendor told me he talked to original owner in 1983 and he said he ordered in black, I think that dealer had a polaris and painted it. I've found a little trace of silver next to wiper motor. I have to do little works before post pictures, the car is almost perfect but I want that really is it!

And if, like I, you're not so patient, and haven't already done so, you can send an e-mail to Andreas Harz or Christina Hartung at the BMW Group Archives requesting the factory data on your car. They just need the VIN and there is no charge. They generally respond in a day or two. The email address can be found if you do a forum-wide search using their names, or something like BMW Group or BMW Archive.

If you'd care to post the VIN here, one of us may well know the car, or have some history of it.

Certificate tells that is Polaris...but it is black!

So it left the factory Polaris and if anyone knows when the color was changed, they're not talking!

It looks like a beautiful car, either way.
