Or your car had a Tii transplant, not at all unusual back when the parts and or wrecked cars could be found. I'm not calling your car into question just say'n way it could be.

If everybody in the room is thinking the same thing, then someone is not thinking.

A US spec'72 tii would have a VIN beginning with 276XXXX and be no higher than 2762629.  The engine block should also have a 276 numeric prefix and originally would have matched the VIN.  So your car's VIN should jibe with the above.

But as was pointed out previously, chances are good that the dash has been replaced.  All US roundie tii's had two piece dashes:  The upper section included the instrument binnacle (on earlier cars that was a separate piece; the lower section included the package shelf and provision for the glovebox.  If the upper and lower sections are a single piece, that dash has been transplanted from a squarelight.

If you look behind the dash you will see the perforated marks in the foam where the clock goes.

This makes it easier to cut the vinyl.  Measure 10 times and cut once.

Took me years of hand wringing to finally install a clock on my '76.

+1 on comments that the dash has replaced or a tii motor has been dropped into a regular 2002.

Regarding the lack of clock. I too put a tii clock in a regular 02 dash.  The dash in my 74 tii looked like Grand Canyon with all the cracks it had.  Years ago, while working as a contractor at Ramstein Air Base Germany,  I went to a vintage automotive swap meet in Ludwigshafen and stumbled upon a crack free one piece Euro spec 02 dash for 120 Euro's and shipped it back. As John76 said, the cut out is visible from the back and measure carefully before cutting.  Here it is in my tii, I like the look of the Euro spec dash (no fasten seat belt billboard). My clock only works part-time so I set it to 5 O'clock because I know it's 5 O'clock somewhere.
