Hello,  New to the site here.  I have found so many answers here.

I was doing some work on the bottom of my 1973 2002 and found this part in the driveway the next day.  I must have inadvertently knocked it off.  However I don't know where it belongs.  Can anyone help me identify it?

  • Solution

You will need to drill out the stamped steel transmission cross-bracket to accept the larger diameter threaded section of the new mount. Super easy and well worth it.

Thanks guys!  I have some oil leaking from trans and that may contributed to its demise.

If I use the E21 mount, is there anything to be aware of when replacing it?

“Some oil leaking from trans”.    They all do that.

”anything to be aware of”.  Scope creep.   While I’m in there.

Shift tower mounts.

Reverse light switch

Output shaft seal

speedometer seals

giubo

shifter bushings

driveshaft center support bearing

engine mounts

rear diff hanger bushings

rear subframe mounts

trailing arm bushings

exhaust hangers

front suspension bushings

You can stop anytime, but these things will still be there. 🤓

Those front diff hanger bushings NEVER go bad!

You have to open up the hole on the crossmember one size with a drill.
