High ride height - springs or ?

Thus stock US squarelights look even more like they're on tippytoes not only due to the taller springs, but the higher bumpers.

...and yet, they're 4" lower than the Rally car the OP has posted.

Again, there is either no engine or the wrong springs in that car.  No amount of binding lower arm pivot and spacer is going to make it THAT high.

Unless you stacked 3 spacers on each side, in addition to the stock one- maybe.

If you're willing, let me know when you're free to Skype sometime and I can show you what's in the car. Maybe looking at it live you might see the problem.

No, I haven't - I'll give that a shot. No driveshaft yet & it's been raining, I'll be concentrating on the car that's in my garage currently so that I can get this one inside out of the weather. It's been sitting outside for several years, but that's no reason not to get it inside asap now.

Skipe?  Gwoodle?  Hell, I can't even remember my vpn route through the dns some days...

...as others will attest, I don't exist- I'm an AI living in a sever farm in Redmond, parasitically attached

to this BB.  So a couple pix on this board's the only way I communicate.

heh

no, Marshall, it's not even the rolling factor.  Now, the skyhooks on the front bumper mounts, THOSE might have something to do with it.

Some will argue this , but gas shocks and struts like Bilstein will raise the car slightly  only slightly

I've observed this particularly with Bilsteins, but it's a subtle difference.

BarrettN: Please post pics of the strut tops and of as much of the strut assembly  you can get from underneath.

Anyone else: Can the sway bar be connected incorrectly in a way that would cause this? Just wondering if it's related to the 5-speed swap.

My brother also suggested that I check that possibly the tops of the springs are properly seated in the upper spring perches. If the weather cooperates I'll be looking at it this weekend. My main focus is getting the other car I have out of my garage so that I can get this one in.

My 74tii looks like a rock crawler even after I installed the 1 dot spring pads.

Sits way yonder too high!  Maybe it will come back in style someday, like it was when I was in high school (lol)

It's called a "gasser" and it never went out of style in certain circles.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
