Fly in, drive home!

Well, maybe Rob Siegel....

VIN 2764182 was likely manufactured in June 1973.  If it was originally metallic green, as described in the listing, it could be a rare Tundra metallic example. Whoever converted it to “Euro style”, eliminated the side markers front and rear and the reflectors on the rear valance — but left the bumpers in their U.S.-only 2 1/2-mph extended form. Hey, if you’re going to do “Euro sleek,” then do “Euro sleek” consistently! Behr A/C: probably just needs a charge!  ?

Rust and all, I hope someone here is giving this car a serious look.

Best regards,

Steve

But would a Tundra (or any green car for that matter) have a black interior?  I thought they all came with tobacco/saddle interiors.

Didja notice the complete rustout below the back window?  That's gonna take some welding skills to repair; wonder where all that water has been going.  It's pretty obvious the car's spent a lot of time outside in the past few years.

Boat anchor....or flood victim? (maybe both).  Obviously a  lot worse out there, still quite a bit to do there (and the expensive sort of bit...), but then its all expensive.

You’re right, Mike, with respect to Tundra metallic, if Tundra even remained available in June 1973 — it doesn’t appear in the September 1973 global color brochure.

But Les’s Taiga metallic would certainly fill the bill.

Below is the exterior/interior color concordance from the January 1972 global color brochure. Taiga metallic is paired with a black all-vinyl interior (as well as with a black vinyl and gray cloth interior for the the Euro market).  Tundra metallic is paired with a saddle brown all-vinyl interior.

Best regards,

Steve

Thanks, Tom, and thanks to your buddy for doing this.

Color just as Les predicted, and a Taiga round taillight tii is going to get another chance at life even if it is a rusty example!  I hope....?

Best regards,

Steve

Perhaps but not by my friend.   He asked if I was interested in a joint project, I declined on this one.

Maybe you want to re-think that, Tom...  You could have a Porsche stack on the right side of the garage and a tii stack on the left side of the garage... ☺️
