I'm making a decal for my restored tii alternator and I need to confirm size.

Also, anyone have pictures of the original 35amp decal?  I have a rebuilt 35amp alternator that needs a decal as well.

I'm printing black on chrome mylar with a protective coating.

Thanks for reading and replying.

I don't know how helpful it is, but I checked the blue, BMW Workshop Manual and there is a photo of a 35 amp alternator showing the decal. It was difficult to make out the number, but it looked like: 0 120 400 630 631 (it was 6s that were difficult to read). If you don't have the workshop manual, I would be happy to scan the photo, but I am not sure the quality would be at a helpful level.

Paul, the original stickers on the 35 amp alternators (and the 45 amp ones also, IIRC) are yellow letters on a black background.  I think the reman units have the black w/ silver letters...

I'm sure a lot of folks would be interested in reproductions if you decide to make some...

I notice the 45-amp alternators with green lettering seem to have part numbers ending in "752...753" while the 45-amp alternators with white lettering seem to have part numbers ending in "794...795".

I'll let others un-tangle this mystery!  Below is my '76 (VIN 2742541, manufactured April 23, 1976) in an August 1983 photo.  I believe that to be the original alternator but I suppose I'd need to go through a few volumes of receipts to absolutely confirm it.

Regards,

Steve
